Yep put any of the main social media sites (though not Tumblr, sadly) on Farside and it distributes traffic randomly too which is more polite

And it has a little button in the corner to jump back in

The detailed forensics about the pipeline attack are way less important than the geopolitics of why the attack took place, but man it is just so obvious. NATO was doing a joint naval exercise in the same waters when the attack occured. The coverup is laughable

The Grayzone participated in what appears to be the first independent expedition investigating the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines. Near one of the blast sites, we discovered a diving boot used by US Navy divers. How did Swedish investigators miss this?

To do my own Snopes disinformation rating of Grayzone they've done incredible reporting on US war crimes but they have shortcomings when it comes to our internal politics and kind of lean to a libertarian antiwar sort of thing that affiliates itself with anti-COVID lockdown people, all this deranged nonsense. Disregard that for now. It's just the main editor of the site letting twitter get to him. Klarenberg and quite a few other writers there are absolute gold. Mate is an idiot, because he disagreed with me on twitter about JFK assassination. Again, disregard all that for now.

I am aware totally normal people find out about Snopes because they do Mythbusters kind of shit and then mix in ludicrous geopolitical takes.

But almost everyone who drops Snopes on me these days has already made up their mind about how the NYT never lies and everything else is Russian disinformation.

Regular ass people were telling us me I was a Russian because I wanted a kinder Zionist to win the United States Democratic presidential primary & give me free healthcare (how time flies)

No I'm just asking why you're incredulous at the idea. You're right I can't expect you to know who Hersh is but he's a hi-profile investigative journalist who has a patronage relationship with intelligence agencies.

To me it comes down to whether we believe the deep state source that UK & Ukraine acted more on their own volition and this wasn't a joint NATO intelligence kind of thing, or we assume they're just trying to push away blame considering that Germans have to pretend to believe we didn't bend them over.

[–] voight@hexbear.net 11 points 10 months ago

There are many other stories about Russia that have gotten Snopes approval that relied on the exact same kind of sourcing from AP, Reuters, NYT, Guardian, BBC, France24, all the main shit that has a veneer of legitimacy which gets rated positively by the orgs that give articles disinformation ratings. You know, Apple News filler.

Snopes is a ridiculous website.

Before we talk about the smoking gun evidence, the tacit admissions by Blinken and Biden, the obvious incentives for the US to do this.

Have you ever doubted a claim made about Russia based on anonymous sources in your life? Name one

LMAO Hersh undersells it, he uses intelligence sources and shit, so Snopes just has to be like "erm we don't think so". Christ
