Not really, if you read my other comment they’re actual journalists that have a solid history of good reporting.

For real, 1 whole Costco pizza is already a good amount.

They started this spin off of the intercept project relatively recently so that’s probably why.

Not sure on the down votes but my guess is that you mentioned the media bias sites and people would rather you come to your own conclusions based on the sources history kinda like you ended up doing by looking up the creators instead of relying on those sites.

I personally stopped interacting with the .worlds world news community after they forced the clearly biased mb/fc bot on everyone despite a lot of complaints.

On the about section of drop site news page:

Founded by Ryan Grim, Jeremy Scahill, and veterans of The Intercept.

Feel free to look them up they do good work.

Gutzon Borglum was the sculptor and was involved with the KKK. He was chosen because he was the sculptor of the "Shrine to the Confederacy” which was the inspiration for Mount Rushmore.

Guess it shouldn’t be too surprising given the way the land was taken from the local tribes despite it being sacred.

Credit to this comment by u/alcoholicorn that drove me to look it up.

I switched to reusable shopping bags along with the rest of Colorado when they enacted a ban this year and honestly prefer them now. Once you get in the habit of bringing them to stores it’s easy.

I’ve heard this story a few times and supposedly it happened over a weekend but yeah either the guy was a very good card counter and played a ton or recklessly bet it on roulette and got insanely lucky if this is true.

I know you’ve been getting downvotes but just wanted to say thank you for voting PSL!

JOHN CARLOS: Yeah, “Blimey, John. You’re calling me with these blimey questions here?” And I said to him, I said, “Pete, I have a concern, man. What’s this about you don’t want to have your statue there? What, are you backing away from me? Are you ashamed of us?” And he laughed, and he said, “No, John.” He said—you know, the deep thing is, he said, “Man, I didn’t do what you guys did.” He said, “But I was there in heart and soul to support what you did. I feel it’s only fair that you guys go on and have your statues built there, and I would like to have a blank spot there and have a commemorative plaque stating that I was in that spot. But anyone that comes thereafter from around the world and going to San Jose State that support the movement, what you guys had in ’68, they could stand in my spot and take the picture.”

Really cool move here. Like the message it sends that anyone can (and should) stand up and do the right thing and support those that are oppressed.

Like I kinda said in my last paragraphs you’ve got fair points that it may be good enough for what it’s being used for here (despite it’s clear biases) since it’s not being used to disallow posts. Although other commenters have said it has a pro-Zionist bias as well which is honestly more concerning than things I’ve pointed out. Haven’t had time to check beyond the ADL one.

Overall my main issue is the community wasn’t really asked if one was desired, which one should be used, how it should be used, etc. Because of that and the lack of good response by the poster I’ve already decided to follow other world news communities instead of this one.

Absolutely insane ending to a great arc.

Finally got around to playing God of War (2018) on my PC after picking it up during a summer sale.

Background:

I played a bit of 1 and 2 back in the day but never fully completed either.

Story: 9.5/10

The story of Kratos struggling to be a father to his son is told very well. Seeing Atreus grow in skill and abilities with you as you progress is great to see and especially noticeable from the first major story battle to the last.

You see Kratos struggle to bond with Atreus a few times early on, but slowly get more comfortable as the story progresses.

The story telling feels very organic with a lot being told as you’re navigating between different areas of the map. Cut scenes play an important role but don’t happen too much.

My only knock is very slight in that I did lookup the previous games stories so that I fully understood the ramifications of some scenes. You can infer most things from the story alone but it isn’t fully impactful as a standalone game just as a heads up.

Playability 9.5/10

As someone who can’t always play super consistently the journal that Atreus keeps helps catch you up to things you forget and when looking at Kratos “special” attacks it’ll demonstrate the buttons you need to hit as well as visually show you what happens with the basic form of the attack which is helpful when you come back after a short break. Key Mapping of attacks on PC is also very good.

My small complaint is it won’t show you how upgraded forms of special attack play out. Also when loading a previous save it isn’t exactly where you previously left off but ends up being the last minor “checkpoint”.

Summary:

I would have definitely paid full price for this game and enjoyed it so much I plan on buying the sequel almost immediately when it comes out in September unless there’s some major issues with the port.

With the Steam and GOG summer sales going on any games people would recommend?

I’ve picked up God of War (50% off), fallout 4 GOY, divinity: original sin 2, spider man remastered, pathological 2, ghost runner, and weird west.

Playing God of War right now and would highly recommend.
