A few of mine :

  • AndOTP : A good app for OTP that actually let's you backup your keys and move them easily and securely to a new phone
  • Blokada : A system wide adblocker for Android. 4000000 ads blocked so far on my phone
  • YouTube Vanced: Not really a "hidden" gem but a cool app nonetheless. I wish people knew you could get an ad free YouTube experience on mobile. It also includes sponsor block so you really get straight to content. Also let's you get a YT popup player and shutdown the screen with the video still playing.
  • F-Droid an Android open source app market. Often includes apps that are not allowed on Google market.

Hello, I think the link got broken. I get a page not found error on the website.

I think I ate a fairly similar dish in Paris (15eme). We had some pretty authentic Korean restaurants there and I really enjoyed discovering this food.

PS: I was curious about the dish and the Wikipedia page is pretty cool:

Not that it matters but a more accurate title in french would be : "Tartelette aux fruits rouges"

Tartelette = Petite Tarte

Aux is better here because it is made of multiple fruits.

This is an article from 2020 and I'm fairly sure it didn't happen.

For me it doesn't matter for lemmy as a whole. But if there is any truth to it, I want nothing with the instances that are administrated by these guys.

I have to ask.

Is there any truth to what has been said about Lemmy's dev ?

The belly rubs resumed soon after. No blood was spilled that day.

Honestly, reading the comments of some out there regarding this issue. I'm starting to think that they did the right choice.

It doesn't take long to find fairly rude or insulting content regarding this.

Most people have no reason to care if a small instance decided to sail away.

It's disappointing because I think this platform is already turning into reddit in term of tone/aggressiveness.

And it's not even just comments, it's upvoting memes that are genuinely rude or targeting a specific community. I don't like the way this is going.

It's not about the destination, it's about the journey.

Honestly, I respect their decision but at the same time I wonder why they didn't create a standalone unfederated from the get go.

If you want to keep the community small and tightly nit it's just not compatible with the federation system. Now people got invested in some beehaw communities only to end up disconnected from them.

Still, it's not like there is a guide for this. We are all learning how to make the federation work. I hope we can keep it civil toward instances that choose to defederate.

We are all invested in the same thing: Making Lemmy successful.
