A really superb tool I've been using for a long time is the Soggfy desktop client. To use it you have to listen to a song in full, then it will save a .ogg file to your PC. Supports 320kb/s and it automatically tags files and downloads artwork.

I don't think Lemmy is going to catch on. There's too much friction every step of the way, at least in my experience with it. I still enjoy using Lemmy, but I can see why the majority of people won't end up making the switch

Definitely 2flashgames.com and Newgrounds.com.

I was in the "he needs to let it go" camp for the last 10 years. You know what? I'm changing sides. I choose to live in the timeline where garbage bitcoin man buys the dump and proves everyone wrong. He earned it

I neglected to mention in the comment that the chickens I'm looking at are of the Ayam Cemani breed, which are pure black, including their organs. They're pretty coveted, so I was surprised that even those are very cheap!

My partner and I moved into an eco village and are going to buy chickens this summer. Blew my mind to learn a live chicken only costs $75

The only people I know who are trained blacksmiths (all two of them) are both women

Yeah I realized that as I was typing it. Our population grew so damn fast. Granted, three million or so of those don't have citizenship or permanent residency, and are a rotation of temporary students or workers. A lot are expected to leave (a lot are also expected to becomes PRs).

3/4 people resisting is probably a pipe dream anyway, so 30 million dissidents from Canada alone isn't likely in a worst case Ontario.

Precisely, and it can stay pseudo-anonymous. A trusted third party (Governments? Banks? A YMCA gym membership?) issuing a hashed certificate or token is all that's needed. You don't need to know my name, age, gender: but if you could confirm that I DO have those attributes, and X, Y, and Z parties confirmed it, then it's likely I'm a human.

I have been messing around with creating a homoglyph keyboard for Android, but I'm wondering if it's even worthwhile. Is there any benefit to masking your messages with homoglyphs? Primarily I think it could defend against an LLMs ability to easily scrape messages. In my experiments ChatGPT and DeepSeek both get confused by homoglyph messages unless you instruct it to determine the likely alphabet characters and numbers for each individual character.
