I'm not going to spend 50 USD on a box of nicotine patches when a pack of cigarettes is 5 at most, I'm not gonna spend 1-2 hours a day lifting weights to get the benefits a single cigarette I smoke in a minute or two would. I can't speak for OP but I won't blame the victim of a controlling partner for not acquiescing to their demands. Smoking isn't illegal, smoking around people is legal, and he should be able to do with his body as a he pleases and his girlfriend should be adult enough to respect that
