i can be hopeful then, im a teen

[–] galactic@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (3 children)

YES. This is how she behaves!!

[–] galactic@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (6 children)

yeah, she either apologizes because she “can’t control herself” or blames me

[–] galactic@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (8 children)

she’s actually my “close friend” but I don’t consider her that for obvious reasons

[–] galactic@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 days ago (13 children)

so this is just like textbook narcissism and not just an asshole?

[–] galactic@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 days ago

pona tawa sina!!

my friend always thinks she's better than everyone at everything. no matter what i do, I'm useless and horrible at everything to her, and she ditches me because I'm nerdy and not the most popular and because I don't like sports. she hangs out with the popular girls and talks about me to them and why they should exclude me if I ask to hang out with them.

most of the time, though, she's nice. it's only usually in gym class, but it's been happening a lot lately.

she's usually nice to me and hangs out regardless of sports or my social status, but like I said, she's been really rude lately.

she also pushes me and tells me to get out of her face but then says it's "just a joke"...

nothing they do is ever their fault, and what I do is never good enough for them

[–] galactic@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 days ago

yeah, makes sense.

Someone I know shows stuff such as:

  • constantly needing a scapegoat
  • shifting blame/cannot take accountability
  • exaggerated mindset, often where other people are useless and they are the greatest
  • has to maintain a very positive public image, such as being the absolute best
  • does not have empathy unless it involves them or impacts their image in some way, if their image is supposed to be empathetic they will act so because of their image
  • lacks empathy for people in pain/bad mental health/etc. but their image might be very upset about that
  • will often be very nice to people in any sort of power

I’m asking because I’m genuinely curious if I should help, and maybe that even if they exhibit negative behaviors, they’re not a completely TERRIBLE person despite how they treat me.

Agreed, as an AFAB person myself

She is doing better 😊

i don’t really need advice yet, it’s just a question. a girl im friends with acts really odd. we are friends, and we used to talk a lot, but then she started getting quieter, making less eye contact.

she also started being tenser/snippy at times.

when she’s not snippy, she’s just very quiet, which is most of the time. sometimes she’ll scoot over next to me but then scoot away, or act like she wants to sit by me but then goes away.

she doesn’t seem to be acting rude at all or mad at me. she will be nice, like smiling and waving and saying “hello”, or energetic when she can respond over text, so i don’t believe i’ve done anything to hurt her, but it’s just been really odd. what, from your experience, make a friend start acting this way? (especially girl because idk about guy friend behaviors)

most of the time, she acts normal, and i appreciate our friendship, and she seems to not hate me or anything like i said

update: i asked bc i was curious abt her behavior as friends, not just wondering if she liked me or anything even if that’s the impression some of y’all get 😭

Genuine question.

this was a while ago, so i forgot the sub, but the mod of it permabanned me for speaking russian because “he and his friends didn’t like my culture.” i ranted about this in another sub, but i quickly became shadowbanned. eventually, i was permabanned from Reddit as i apparently violated a rule and harassed a guy? I didn’t even put the guys username, nor do I remember it—it was definitely generated by Reddit tho.

of course, it’s been a while ago, so I don’t want anyone to actually do anything, but this is more of a genuine question rather than “I have his username and all his details: I want him banned.”

I had a girlfriend who was usually quite nice, but she mostly had internalized homophobia, thought she was better than everyone else and "one of the good ones".

when someone says “i’m not homophobic, i have an lgbt friend”, she was the friend in question.

anyway, at least we broke up, because she was seeing a guy behind my back, leaving my texts on read, and seeing him? so i think she cheated, even tho she “apologized”.

she also seemed edgy and “hated” everything. yeahhhhh…

as a teenager, i know about two people (ages 13 and 14) who snore. usually, i don’t come across this, so i was wondering how common/normal it is.

people have told me that snoring at that age is not normal and a sign of sleep apnea.
