I figured they'd just start calling it "Windows" and continue naming future updates with the date like they do now (ie 22H1, 22H2, 23H1, etc).

I've been using the Codium plugin in VSCode for a little bit now and find it useful. It's free, but does require an account.

This is more of an issue with copyright law than of A.I. content generation. All you really need to do is create an algorithm that creates images based on every combination of pixels. There were a couple of lawyers who did this with melodies by creating an algorithm to generate every combination of 12-note, 8-beat melodies. One of the lawyers has a TED Talk where he goes into more detail with the issues of copyright laws: https://youtu.be/sJtm0MoOgiU

Aren't these current personal assistants already relying on API calls for their responses?

Same on Windows in my experience 😁

Why should that fall on the developer if you choose not to upgrade?

Same. Feels hopeless sometimes.

The biggest use for me, as a Windows user, is multitasking on a single monitor. For example, I can have my code up on one half of my screen, and documentation on the other side. It's really quick and easy when the windows snap into position.
