Besides the downvoting, there is not much blind disagreement comments here, nor agreement ones. Definitely a comment section worth reading. Fair points of views on both sides.

What was the best donation you have ever received? (lemmy.world)
 

Some days ago, a neighbor invited me over because she was donating books that belonged to her husband, who died from covid during the pandemic. There were a lot of books, and even by choosing only the ones which caught my attention, I was able to get over 100 different books.

It was the first donation I have ever received and I got really happy about it. I am already halfway through The Shining, which was in the collection. So it got me thinking about donation itself.

What about your experiences with it? And I am asking about donation of things, not money.

Is there a way to hide hyperlinks? (lemmy.world)
 

I have been looking through the settings for something that could hide links or at least move them, so they don't show up on top of images. Is that a feature yet?

Loving the app so far, btw. :)

I think it is a great idea. If this was an optional implementation to an adblock extension, I would totally use it. Just like I used to block nsfw content in my last phone with a custom ROM.

I've noticed that lemmy as a whole is much more leftist than reddit (outside of political servers of course) in c/showerthoughts@lemmy.world

As someone from Brazil and in the left, I could say the same about not caring, but I am aware that in my country's case there are a lot of people in mainstream media that replicates what both sides are saying in the USA. The right wing over here went so crazy they have tried to copy the capitol invasion. They are all in jail now.
