I use Jellyfin on Roku because my Samsung TV was too old for it.
It sucks on Roku.

I have not figured out the pattern for why some UHD videos don't play remotely while others do, only that debugging it is fiendishly difficult since it all works fine locally.

If you ever resume a video, the subtitles are out of sync. And I haven't found a way to adjust them.

Some videos with certain encodings play only on the PC app, but not Roku or Android.

For that matter Android is basically there to just easily download a copy, I don't even bother trying to play with it.

At least Plex consistently plays things.

I'm fine with a company making their own games exclusive to their own software platform.
I don't like it, but I accept it.

I absolutely hate a company inducing other companies to release only on their software platform. Seems like monopolistic practices rather than competing on services.

A stance of "Both sides are bad" is just a stance that favors the Status Quo.
The underdog needs the extra assistance, the superior doesn't.
So for that reason I'm pro-Israel, don't want either side winning, don't want aid to either side, so that defaults to a pro-Israel stance.
I'm comfortable being labeled as such.

Casinos are always a scam, you can't win, and if you find a way they kick you out.

I'm still mostly on Reddit, but I've definitely cut down my participation. For example I stopped up/downvoting posts entirely. And haven't really been participating in askreddit / eli5

The post I've made are either mirrored, or limited to relatively obscure communities.

As for lemmy, still lurking, not quite ready to dive in.

But what if I want to be a mome?

Your self-hosted VPN has to be plugged into the internet somewhere. If that IP address is associated with you, the VPN hasn't done anything.

The number of people who are using the VPN server also lends plausible deniability.
"No I wasn't pirating anything! That was someone else! I was just using it because I like my privacy and don't trust my government to not snoop on it!"
