Yup! Tusky for sure, don't know about the other apps. The official app is great but missing many features still. Give Tusky a go if you decide to try Mastodon again!

I bet it is the same reason that I had: can't follow or unfollow tags from official app (or atleast I haven't found a way to do so, please help).

ukraine community over at sopuli is great if you sort by new, just trying to get more traction there in the form of people commenting. Posts for info, comments for fun.

No, it doesn't! I bet many of us had the same experience :)

I'm so sorry about the post settings... Didn't realize that affects federation!

And I agree, I couldn't read or watch anything related to the topic after realizing it's seen as a goal. I do see it as a great starting point into being more mindful of the life around you.

Thank you for taking the time to rewrite your answer!

I am so sorry I did not realize Kbin does that... no wonder I've had issues. I usually post on my lemmy account but have really been liking kbin lately. Seems I don't even have an option to post with "undefined" language.

Now, you put it exactly how I feel about this topic! I got into it from a blog post, checked out the infamous "minimalists" and Marie Kondo, but felt like the message is the same and feels like they are just trying to make a lot of money on the concept of minimalism after the first two paragraphs of text. Be it podcast, netflix show or anything else.

The great thing I got from it all was the mentality against consumerism. I didn't realize how social media conditioned me to follow the latest trends and buy the newest gadgets.

Thanks for your awesome response (and sorry about the post settings).

To me it all started with bumping into r/minimalism years ago (shoutout to !minimalism@lemmy.world, the migrated r/minimalism) and reading books about it.

I noticed that with minimalism came simple living, enjoying the small things in life. I often feel like they are interconnected due to this, but this could just be my experience.

How many others had a similar experiences, or did something else bring you here? Also welcome experiences about directly searching for simple living topics and bumping into this community (originally on reddit).

Lemmy has been running for 4 years (don't know how long they developed it before releasing the first beta), Kbin barely for 2 months. Just putting that out there! Love both though.

There used to be direct links on plcman forums (.co.uk) but I believe they stopped maintaining the forums and none of the links work anymore. Sadly I haven't been able to successfully find any cracks / cracked licenses for PLC software in a long time and don't work in the automation industry anymore.

If you are working in an automation company, for siemens software you can still pretty much do the old: install on a virtual machine, move licenses, shutdown virtual machine, copy paste virtual machine -routine since the license manager still doesn't connect to any online sources to check.

Yeah I understand, I'm bit hesitant to ping ernest since his hands are absolutely full, but maybe the question OP and you have really could use an answer so that we could do something about this. Hey @ernest , if you see this, is it possible to:

  1. Hand down a magazine ownership to another user
  2. give ownership of an instance to another user if the original owner has gone MIA?
[-] Lazycog@kbin.social 0 points 1 year ago

I know that on lemmy admins of an instance can hand over a community on that instance to another person. Wonder if it is the same on kbin?

[-] Lazycog@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Wow okay that's a lot! Might have to migrate my mastodon account there. Thanks for the tip!

I'm quite new to the fediverse, and noticed that on kbin you can actually see who downvoted a post or a a comment (and not only your own posts and comments), by clicking on the "activity" button.

My question is, how does this translate to Mastadon? I haven't seen a "reduce" button and was wondering if it is the same as "block" or "mute" on Mastodon?
