You make it hard for me to choose.

[–] JshKlsn@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Try the first one! If you don't like it, start from the top and go down the list again!

Infinity for reddit mentioned trying to keep developing and if they can't get API access, they said pivoting to a lemmy client is on the table. They posted this in their sub on reddit.

Exciting since I infinity for reddit is a fdroid only client that rawks!

Sync dev is weighing their options too.

Sync for Lemmy would be amazing

[–] JarekLB@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 year ago

I absolutely love the sync app, I really hope he decides to make an app for Lemmy.

Also RedReader

My long-term vision for RedReader is to restructure the app to more easily support other sites, including Lemmy, and perhaps others such as Tild.es and Hacker News. Before the API changes were announced, I was already considering adding RSS reader functionality to the app, and I think it would be cool to work with some kind of "open forum protocol" which would allow a variety of websites and apps to interoperate with each other through a uniform API.

We should have Sync for Lemmy!!

[–] SeeleLowe@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

The dev is actually considering it! I certainly hope he finds the time too.

It'd be such sweet justice if third party reddit app developers migrated to Lemmy, and that's what really kills off reddit for good.

That aside I've been using jerboa, but also Lemmy itself is a PWA (in chrome you can "Install" Lemmy as a dedicated web app from three point menu) which works good as well.

I just stumbled on a new project called Thunder, made for iOS and Android. Looks really good so far.

Community here.

[–] zekiz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I don't know if it counts as Android app but there also is https://wefwef.app

It's a PWA and can also be installed on Android.

breaking news:

[–] Tucumano88@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] bl00dyburn3r@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Why are you using two different apps?

[–] MdRuckus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I have several. Most are new and still need a lot of work. They keep updating quickly, so it's nice to try multiple to find which one works best. At some point I will settle on just one.

[–] Tucumano88@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Simple, testing

lemming github leads to 404

[–] JshKlsn@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Thanks! Seems like the project might be abandoned along with Slide. I've moved them to their own group.

Wow I was going to comment that lemmur is another android app for Lemmy but then I realised it was shut down in February. Does anyone know what the "political differences" are that are cited as one of the reasons for the discontinuation?

[–] poVoq@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (4 children)

I don't know the exact motivations of the Lemmur developer, but 2022 surfaced a lot of community break-points here and it is no secret that the main Lemmy developers at least tolerate if not partially endorse some pretty insufferable people on the Lemmy instances they run.

Thunder & Liftoff are available on the IzzyOnDroid F-Droid repo

[–] JshKlsn@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] schizoidman@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Well Jerboa is also available on the IzzyOnDroid repo and it is usually faster to update compared to F-Droid.

Soon we will see (previously sync for Reddit) sync on this list, I can't wait!

[–] efraimbart@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Infinity and Dawn for Everything now have early support for Lemmy. See here.

[–] sadmin@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Which one from the above list do you like most? (Asking because I don't want to try all of them)

[–] JshKlsn@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

I prefer Connect!

[–] xantonin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I tried Connect first but it seemed to default to All view and I just wanted to see Subscribed. I also tried Lift Off but it didn't link to profiles on Mastodon correctly, and finally I tried Jerboa and it does everything right, smooth, and I like all the interface buttons. There were other things I tested too but I just like Jerboa overall.
