After 20-25 years, it's more or less used for a spam pit and less important things now. No sense walking away from it when there's no finances or other dangerous things attached
Memes
Rules:
- Be civil and nice.
- Try not to excessively repost, as a rule of thumb, wait at least 2 months to do it if you have to.
10 yo me on his way to include his day, month and year of birth in his reddit username that cannot be changed and to get enough karma on that account to not want to delete it.
And yet you ended up here
I'm glad I did!
Yes, Angelfire!! My first website was there. It was ✨ sparkly✨ and quite lovely. 😂 I only ever see people talk about Live Journal nowadays, which I think was after my time.
DaBestHackr@aol.com checking in. Warez for life
Warez is pronounced like “where’s” right? My friend said it like Juarez, the place in Mexico, and I can’t help but hear it like that in my head.
I find it incredibly annoying that Google won't let you merge or transfer purchases to a new account.
YES BITCH! I'm stuck using this ancient account I'd really rather not in order to access my purchases. Luckily most of the things I've bought are no longer available. However I did just buy premium for Boost for Lemmy.... Fuck it. I'm buying it again.
Thank you for the reminder for me to switch over. I actually needed that.
I like how this was your reminder. I mean, you just made a thread about this very topic...
I was born with the ability to post memes, not think about them. Thinking hard.
While it's not quite the same, Google does allow you to stay signed into multiple accounts. Just click your profile photo in the upper-right and click "Add another account". After signing into the other account, you can seamlessly switch between them. The same steps can also be used for any Google Android app.
same email for 20+ years, if i was starting over, i would choose something shorter and easier to spell
You missed your chance with your account here too
I made that mistake with my first vanity domain. It sucked having to spell it out every time lol
Edgyvideogamecharacter22@hotmail .com
I bet you have a very wholesome password
PW:
u#'o*zaQM
yPC"fnw?Cu9OSrxYeEDCe6yXgzQYL4NxP?k%sx+'dBKfdru0CUmD&
If the server won't take a 64-char pw with letters, numbers, and symbols then is it even worth using?
Oh god don't remind me, I STILL have stuff tied to that email
Friend got locked out of Instagram account because yahoo deactivated their email. Instagram flagged the email as inactive. After my friend forgot their password, Instagram wouldn't send pw reset emails even after reactivating the account. They also has no direct customer support whatsoever, so that account was lost.
More like 8 yr old lol
I got pretty lucky that 1) my usernames have all been pretty tame if a bit boring and 2) I never published anything horrible under my IRL name
I publish all of my horrible stuff online under your real name just to fuck with you
Bank: and your email is "TigOlBiddies69 @ email com?"
Me: "Yes is there a problem?"
When I was in college I got an early invite to Gmail, and did the fistname.lastname address.
All my day jobs have also had the same format, as does my university faculty ID (I teach night classes).
It's kinda handy that you just use my (unique) name and the organization to get in touch with me.
Though it's super annoying on my phone's autocomplete since the screen above the keyboard shows "firstname.lastname@...." 3 times and I don't know which is which.
I still keep my Hotmail/Yahoo/etc., but I've gotten my name as a domain and use that for professional communication.
It has catch-all support, so whether you send an email to hi@name.com or "XxX_360noscopegamer_xXx@name.com", I still receive it.
I do the same. And if someone abuses a particular alias I block it.
You guys are still using the same email?
Trying to get highscore on haveibeenpwned.com. 37 so far
I only got eleven, guess my password is alright?
Thank goodness Gmail came out so I could get away from my Yahoo email.
When I was like 11 I made two emails, one with a dumb name and another more professional one that's just my name. I didn't want to send emails to adults with the dumb name one because I didn't want to explain it.
11 year old me was way too serious.
My first Hotmail address was based off my football position and jersey number. During high school I changed positions and numbers along the way, making it obsolete like a year after creating it
Still useful for signing up to things I know are gonna spam me with bullshit though, the ad copy can join old MySpace reminders.
Ah, mister SafetySafety88 ?
My first was dingdong86@aol and then dudeguy2202@yahoo
Today I use something more professional, last name + my first and middle initials.
Just... get a new email? I use a separate email for every account now
Does anyone remember when marijuana.com allowed to create a free email?
I use it as an alt now
