Also somewhat proud (with slight embarrassment in admitting that) of this comment on the thread for the news article "Porn industry jumps into presidential campaign, targeting Project 2025". The reply I got was a great gag as well.

Probably my most over-used quote, but:

"This better not awaken anything in me."

My top post.

Or the highest rated anyway. I posted it to ADHD memes, because I have ADHD and love memes.

The credit goes to floccinaucinihilipilification on Twitter.

ETA: I actually don't have that reaction when someone doesn't reply right away, but that's because I once took 3 years to answer a friend and I try not to be a hypocrite.

Thanks! That was incredibly relatable. Do you have any more? I'll be awaiting your prompt response. Please note, replies may take 3 to 5 business months.

[–] DJDarren@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

They haven't yet responded, so I can only assume that they died of how much they hate you. Sorry.

I am literally crying and far too sad to respond to your comment. I'll put it off until I feel too guilty to reach out. I'll hold onto that guilt for the rest of my life.

[–] prototype_g2@lemmy.ml 2 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Well, it depends on your definition of "best". But if we go by total score, my "best" post is this one and my "best" comment is this one.

I like Existential Comics, and that's a particularly good one. Looks like there was some lively debate in the comments.

Thanks for your contribution to the anti-cheat discussion. I didn't know much about it beforehand.

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 2 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

You made that? What is it/is it about?

[–] christian@lemmy.ml 2 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

I was very proud of my idea for a regional ditto for the pokemon franchise, and someone whipped up an amazing illustration in the comments: link

"I reckon this gym ain't big enough for the both of us, pardner."

That was great. Thanks for sharing.

apparently this one https://lemmy.ml/post/4082699 bigger version since original pic is gone

and that's the top comment https://lemmy.ml/post/5534638/4219049

Incredible. Gorgeous.

As a child, I, too, was delighted to know that transformers were real and then disappointed that they were not the kind I wanted. I guess it was nice having electricity, though.

I do love the absurdity of the Jesse Pikman concept.

That's really cool. Thanks for posting the image. I got the following error when I clicked the link:

This one:

…and, yeah, the photo is definitely over-brightened and saturated.

It's beautiful. Art isn't just about documenting events. It's about expressing information, including the feeling of the moment, even if it's not objectively and empirically accurate. I love it.

[–] dormedas@lemmy.dormedas.com 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Thanks! I said in the posts something about the editing expressed the feeling of the aurora, which I had never witnessed before, and which was quite strong for how far south it was.

I like Vermeer, but if all paintings were held to that particular style, we would have missed out on the overwhelming majority of great works. I believe the same rule applies to all art media. The ability to convey the feeling of the moment is foundational to art.

The one I put by far the most effort in and most care is my "Read Theory, Darn It!" Introductory Marxist-Leninist reading list I like to keep on hand and link if I feel its appropriate. It's not solely my effort, though, several comrades provided the epubs, audiobooks, and tweaks and suggestions. I made it after the 2024 US Election results, and wanted to give disillusioned people a productive route to understand why it happened that way, and a way to resist.

Outside of that, I really enjoy my overly-nerdy analysis of a leak of NCR Ranger Power Armor and how it fits/doesn't fit into the NCR's two-pronged Imperialist millitary structure, combining large, relatively slow units into the long-range scouting/guerilla arm of the millitary. Mostly because it's stupidly unnecessary for what's just a TV adaptation of a video game series, a series I happen to deeply love yet hate in almost equal measure.

Wow! Thanks for the thorough response. That's a lot of content.

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Haha, no problem! I do post and comment quite a lot, looking to tone it back gradually.

That's a good one. I commented the same under that post, but it is possible to have a left and a right vagina.

Life is unfair, she got two I got neither and stupid worm 😭

[–] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Sorry to hear that, Miss Una. I hope you have a social group that respects and appreciates women like you.

[–] Una@europe.pub 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, I have few online friends and one online friend from same country who is also trans

I'm glad to hear that. Thanks for contributing to the advancement of civil rights.

I still haven't beaten my first post for number of upvotes. Beginners luck, I guess.

Brutal. I love it. To be fair, that's one hell of a first post, and Ted Cruz is the wurst kind of hotdog filler.

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I learned a lot from that post. Searching the Fediverse has been kinda slow and painful. I'll have to give it a try.

I get an error message when trying to read the comment. Not a rare occurrence in the Fediverse, but still better than the alternative.

My favourite comment is similar: the Firefox/Windows copypasta.

[–] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

That was a fun read. I'm not quite that tech savvy. Why would someone prefer Linux features on Windows rather than Windows features on Linux?

[–] MRLimcon@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I was working on some fortran code that was wrapped using f2py, so this was needed to test it on windows. As the fortran compilers on windows are kinda trash, bringing the entire system to windows (using msys2) was easier than compiling on native windows tools. Now f2py is broken for distributing packages, so the toolchain changed. It was fun to make this frankensteins monster hahaha.

Cool. I learned something new today. That does sound like a chimera.

[–] RagingHungryPanda@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Mine aren't totally great as they're both kinda negative. My top comment is https://lemm.ee/comment/16106836, which is pointing out that new jokes are old.

My top post is https://lemm.ee/post/5345101. The image associated with it is gone, but it was a screenshot of an old friend reaching out and acting friendly in a text and trying to sell me on a crypto scheme. That actually really bumbed me out when he did that.

I thought the first one was pretty funny. There's probably a hieroglyphic version of that joke carved into an ancient temple somewhere.

I'm sorry to hear that. It was MLM that ended a friendship for me. It's really strange that corporations can eat relationships.

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's so accurate. I can see why it got the upvotes. It's got a very rich comment section, too. Thanks for sharing this.
