It's "not something you should do without their enthusiastic consent".

[–] blarth@thelemmy.club 2 points 3 days ago

It would definitely be a complement, though your SO may not take it as a compliment. 🫶🏿

[–] quediuspayu@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

If you need to ask that to internet strangers it means that you don't know your significant other.

[–] LambdaRX@sh.itjust.works 11 points 5 days ago (1 children)

It's unethical if it's without consent.

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

That just sounds like giving personal details to a 3rd party that they might not be consenting of.

[–] cattywampas@lemm.ee 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Why would it be a compliment?

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Using AI for anything more than diagnosing cancer or scrubbing toilets is unethical

I'll just right you down as, "insult."

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Better work on those reading and righting skills first

No, they are commenting on your grammar, or the lack thereof

How dare you. How dare you! I'll have you know I'm a wordist and that means words mean words words words. Turn your head in disgrace! I can't even look at you.

Don't go starting a diction waving contest

[–] gazter@aussie.zone 1 points 3 days ago

Ok I lost respect for you when you said 'reading and righting' but that line right there gained it all back and then some, well done!

I would be fine about being asked, asking wouldn't affect the relationship, but I would say no because I don't want it.

If they did it anyway, or without even asking, I would end the relationship and probably make a police report. How many other boundaries are they willing to cross or have already crossed? Is there a camera in my shower? It would make me incredibly worried to deal with that level of disrespect.

100% my own opinion as a 37y/o male who would never find myself in this scenario. This isn't a commentary on any other scenarios or sexual preferences except imagining myself in OP's presented scenario.

  1. Is your SO someone most people would consider a normal person?

No - Then fuckin roll the dice.

Yes w/o asking 1st - Then it's incredibly creepy if they find a porn of themselves in your possession and opens a can of worms about what means you used to make it and the integrity of that means to protect the created porn from being viewable by others.

Yes w/asking 1st - Then prepare for an incredibly awkward conversation where you explain why you'd rather spend time making an AI porn of the person you're fucking instead of spending the time with them or actually romancing/fucking them. Even if they aren't completely turned off by this scenario then you still look like an ass for wanting to use AI to make porn of SO instead of just asking them to record your own together.

  1. Only non-wierd scenarios for this conversation to be brought up under:

Long distance/extended periods of time away for each other.

Disabilities where sex is off the table.

SO already has public accessible media of themselves fucking.

I don't really like having photos or videos of me made, so probably an outlier here. If I was comfortable recording us having sex, then I think I'd be A-ok with an artificial version too.

[–] dmention7@lemm.ee 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Hell, I'll go against the grain here and say that if my wife wanted to watch porn featuring me, some kind of AI or otherwise manipulated imagery is the only way that's practically going to happen, and I'd have no issues indulging her in principle.

The main sticking point would be the feasibility of generating that content without feeding my photos to some 3rd party, and more importantly making sure that imagery never leaks outside of her direct personal and private possession.

I'd very much prefer to give consent, but if she were to do it on her own, my main issues would again be around the point above. Otherwise I wouldn't feel much different than if she told me she got off while imagining me on her minds eye. And the same types of caveats would apply: Me with some anonymous 3rd party? Whatever floats her boat. Me with a specific person, or worse yet, someone we know? That's when it starts to cross a line.

Great, now that's in my comment history!

Sorry about your comment history but I love you for humoring me.

[–] dumblederp@aussie.zone 2 points 5 days ago

Without consent I'd find it creepy, with consent I'd find it creepy but accept that it was something my partner wanted to try that didn't particularly harm me personally. It would also depend on the AI's privacy policies.

[–] phlegmy@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 days ago

Depends how closely it resembles them.
If it's indistinguishable I'd take it as a compliment, otherwise I might take it as how you would prefer me to look.

It really depends on how porn/sex-positive the SO is.
If you're just looking for spankbank material, maybe you could do a photoshoot together?
