Lol you have to win first. Holding trials in absentia of a sovereign nation with no teeth is meaningless lip service. Fight back and win first, then you can pat yourselves on the back bringing justice.

Lol at Trump thinking he can treat the world however the fuck he wants all while keeping the good will and soft power we have spent the decades since WWII building. What a damn tool, we are not getting that soft power back for years now after his escapades, if EVER

I am all for this but you need to beat Ruzzia first. You need to roll in and whip their asses and arrest every criminal left alive. Then and only then have a worldwide televised trial as a warning to all other fascists. Then you turn and look at Trump and Israel and tell them you are next if you don't get your shit together.

Britain is a fucking joke.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world -4 points 6 days ago

Two countries didn't sign that agreement. Who cares what the US and israel think about it. However just like a low functioning sovereign citizen I hope both current leaders are subject to that court despite their disbelief in it validity.

How about Nuremberg style trials for the Trump administration?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 85 points 1 week ago

As an American, I support both.

The tin-foil hat person inside me is screaming that Putin directed Trump to destroy the economy and all our alliances. If he manages to fire Powell, I think he's accomplished his goals in less than 100 days.

[–] Stanley_Pain@lemmy.dbzer0.com 35 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It looks so obvious that this is what is happening it's crazy.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It’s completely insane that so many people are in denial about this. It’s clear as fucking day that that’s what’s happening right now.

shipping people to a concentration camp in el salvador without any due process sounds like a violation of many laws to me.

[–] MonkeMischief@lemmy.today 10 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (2 children)

You know what's freaking terrifying?

I use Nextdoor on occasion (a social media app specifically for localized neighborhoods), because it helps with safety or lost pets or something occasionally...

...but lately there's been some tesla vandalism going on, and there's SO MANY comments like "Give them 20 years" and "Send them straight to El Salvador." and "Domestic terrorism!"

I used to resent isolation and lack of community...but now I really don't wanna meet my neighbors anymore...

I want to believe a quieter majority of us aren't cool with shirking due process and shipping U.S citizens to foreign prison camps, if that wasn't bad enough, for property damage of all justifications...but geeze.

I want to believe a quieter majority of us aren’t cool with...

After the results of the last election, I cannot delude myself any longer. We're surrounded by fascist, imbecilic weirdos I'm afraid. The only thing we can do at this point is become louder and hope to pull defectors into our ranks.

There also is some amount of hope that can be obtained by the fact that this is a very large, very disorganized country that contains all kinds of people. That'll make ruling over all of us with an iron fist practically impossible to pull off. Unless, of course, we allow it.

[–] Critical_Thinker@lemm.ee 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I'm not ok with shipping anyone to foreign prison camps. There's zero reason why we should ever do that, with exception of a valid extradition request from another country.

[–] MonkeMischief@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

Oh 110% agreed. Big time.

I can even understand if it were a bit of debate, for the very worst offenses or something. (Not that I'd agree, but I can understand people debating it.)

I think I was more aghast at how people were frivolously suggesting gulag camps without the slightest moral ponderance over....

(Flips pages)

....Keying off some car paint...

Suburbanites can be a special kind of evil.

The fastest way to tell if something is the right thing to do is to ask whether or not Orange Julius Caesar opposes it.

You need one of those even more for Israel, but the British political elites are active and willing accomplices in that specific Genocide.

One rule for some, another for others...

Hypocrisy is very much the core trait of the British upper classes.

Wonder why they are holding trials for the war crimes which their own politicians are not involved in, and not for the genocide which their own politicians are involved in.

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 16 points 1 week ago

FUCK 47, HE BELONGS AT THOSE TRIALS TOO, IN SHACKLES, AND WITH A GUY WITH A NOOSE MEAN MUGGING HIM

[–] ShittyBeatlesFCPres@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)
