Just got a message from her and I'm feeling pretty special! (I'm kidding!)

No, but seriously. Internet detectives, if you're out there — Where did she come from? Does anyone know where these messages first appeared?

I received my fourth message from this person this morning! My current theories are it's either a pig-butchering scam, or the person who is behind all the accounts is a person who is obessed with the girl in the pictures and is trying to dox her out of revenge or something. I ran the pictures through TinEye and Google Reverse Image Search, but nothing came up. The slight motion blur suggests they are screenshots of video calls, multiple video calls given that her clothing keeps changing between pictures.

Whatever the intentions are, I'm sure they're not good because someone mentioned that one of the Nicole accounts posted a picture of a buttplug, and in the photo, people could clearly see an old, balding white man reflecting off of it, and when people pointed this out, the account owner deleted it.

When a mommy and daddy love each other very much...

When a Nicole mommy and a Nicole daddy really love eachother...

[–] morgan_423@lemmy.world 3 points 23 hours ago

I had no idea of the intentions, but history of the internet says there was maybe 1% chance of being pure and 99% chance of being something malicious, so I just ignored it, figuring it was a bot to dm everyone it could find on the platform.

Just received my third PM from this person. While s/he (because we don’t know who is actually doing it) is certainly now infamous for their well-known solicitations, it’d still be great to close the door on them.

I got two identical messages from her on separate accounts lol.

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago

Yeah me too. Whoever or whatever this is, is casting a wide net.

[–] Achyu@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 23 hours ago

I got 3 dm's or so too. Is it some social experiment?

[–] Zeppo@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

I figured at first it's some sort of scam. But then, someone mentioned that it could actually be an anti-Nicole operation, like someone with a grudge against her is trying to get people angry with her, and trying to get people to go troll her discord or whatever. One thing I'm sure of is it's not a normal way for people to interact on Lemmy.

I suspect Nicole is a similar sort of operation to Aidana the pretty lady dentist from Kazakhstan, only aimed at people who’d be more sceptical. So instead of stealing images from a fitness influencer, they got some from a more average-looking young woman and made up a story. If it’s like Aidana, there’s a guy somewhere (probably in the hinterland of Russia or elsewhere in the former USSR) whose day job is to string the people who reply along, lead them into believing they have a relationship with this lady, make sure they’re absolutely sure this isn’t a scam, and then pig-butchering them for all they’re worth.

too many different photos of clearly the same person.

it's easier to grab a photo from a random omegle stream (when it still existed)

Beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes.

[–] Glent@lemmy.ca 21 points 2 days ago

I wasnt even aware you could dm people on here until people started complaining about nicole

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 21 points 2 days ago

Toronto, IIRC

[–] Hyphlosion@lemm.ee 8 points 2 days ago

Next time I’ll ask her if she’s the daughter of the Nigerian prince.

[–] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's probably a bot. I've seen Musk scam bots under posts about Musk. Fedi is big enough that scammers are in

[–] dawnslayer@kbin.earth 2 points 2 days ago

This makes the most sense, yes.

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

she claims to be from Toronto, but we don't not if true or even if that's someone else sharing her pictures, Lemmy is not that popular, so could be possible to impersonate and run unnoticed

I got a message from Nicole too, would like to know where it came from

I don't know but when I checked their profile they had zero posts and zero comments which I have zero trust in so I blocked them

[–] gon@lemm.ee 6 points 2 days ago

I'm also rather curious about this...
