Congrats. We just moved to a new climate and a plant we have had for years is just now looking the same.

Mine just started blooming 2 weeks ago! To think, I bought it almost dead from Walmart after Christmas last year and it is still around and kicking!

they are very tough plants

My mother kept one hanging under an awning in front of the house. That plant lived over 40 years.

These can be grown from cuttings, right? There's been one in my dad's family for over a century and I'm thinking I should clone it.

as a kid we had one in the bathroom, basically survived on humidity alone

My mom used a teaspoon to water it every week or so.

Mine hasn’t quite bloomed yet, it’s still young and only has 4 buds (last year had 2)

But the white one is putting out huge flowers like crazy (also hasn’t actually bloomed yet, first year it’s flowering, and it has dozens)

They should be opening within the next few days/weeks idk.

Presumably a holiday cactus is one that'll fit in the hand luggage.

is this a joke that's gone right over my head?

[–] MadBob@feddit.nl 1 points 1 month ago

Under the seat, usually?

[–] Mex@feddit.uk 0 points 3 weeks ago

It's still going strong.
