I am using a 1080p VA panel from GIGABYTE (G27FC) and while it's good for shooters, it does not work as well for cinematic games and productivity (because of the resolution, low brightness, and color accuracy). I am considering upgrade to a 1440p IPS panel at a budget of 800 USD. Can anyone help walk me through some thoughts:

  • IPS or OLED? OLED would be great for HDR and brightness, but I have never used HDR before in my life so I don't even know if it's worth it.
  • 21:9 or 32:9? All decent 32:9 panels in my price range (that I can find) are VA, and I am concerned about the colors.
  • GPU upgrade? My 3060Ti is doing well enough @ 1080p, but I am thinking that I may need to upgrade to the 4070 for the best 1440p experience with modern games.
  • Should I just wait? Maybe I am being too hasty and I should hold off to wait for better stock.

If you have any good recommendation, I would really appreciate it. Currently, I have the MSI and LG IPS 2k monitors on my list (the ones recommended by Rtings).
