It's very underwhelming. I loved the old ones, but this just feels awkward. I'm already sure this won't have one percent of the hours I spent on Streets of Rage 4.

Ahh, that's real unfortunate. But then, SoR 4 is just perfection

Trailer description says, "roguelike action".

Isn't this just a beat 'em up. What's the roguelike part? Do you keep getting stronger with permanent upgrades or something?

So I haven't played yet, but it most likely has some kind of permadeath mode, leading them to use the label, correctly or not. The term is often misused anyway, so these days it's hard to know what they're really trying to say

Agreed. Will look up some gameplay or review for more details.

It's a beat 'em up, but when you finish a level you can get upgrades from the money you collected. And the other levels become harder. And when you die, you can buy a continue, but if you've used your money on upgrades there's a chance you've run out and you just die for good. Guess that's "roguelike action"?

Oh, it doesn't sound like something I would like, specially the other levels getting difficult part.

I only played co-op for a bit during the weekend and it's ok, but there's definitely better beat 'em ups on Switch. For a legendary brand like "Double Dragon", I was expecting more. The difficulty is weird, on a level it started super easy and all of a sudden we both died from some bullshit traps, spears that come out of the floor and hit you and you don't have enough time to get up before the next ones attack you so you eventually die. I'll still give it a few more tries, it is sort of fun, but definitely not the best of the genre.

Oh, that doesn't sound great, and I was excited for the game. Do share the details when you have played some more.
