I'm really surprised they won't just make multiplayer free. It would be a noticable feature in the "pro" column to make them stand out over PlayStation, and most of their customers just get Game Pass anyway. The reason Steam offers multiplayer for free is that their servers are funded by game purchases, and now the vast majority of console game purchases are made digitally as well, meaning their monopolistic storefronts can also justify providing that service for free.

It’s just weird that the “Console” tier doesn’t seem to include multiplayer. What the hell is the point of the tier, then?
I’m pretty sure it does. They all include multiplayer as far as I know.
That tier doesn’t.
I'm not into this subscription. Is it just a name change or has more been changed?
It removes the oft ignored Games With Gold and changes it to just work like a smaller Game Pass library.
