is anyone else having federation issues for kbin 'magazines'?

I've been subscribed to m/mma for a month and posts/comments do not come over to lemmy in a timely manner (or at all in some cases)

I'm not sure if the issue is on the lemmy side or the kbin side so I don't even know where to check or submit an issue

I regularly see posts from Technology@kbin.social without delays, with sort order on "new". Maybe the sort order influences this? I've also heard that posting to kbin from lemmy or vice versa helps increasing traffic between them, but I don't know if or how much that's true.

interesting, there is something odd going on with mma@kbin.social at least

here is what both platforms look like when sorting by 'new'
notice how Lemmy is missing most recent posts, and Lemmy is missing 4/5 comments from the Jamahal Hill post (Lemmy is also missing 5/7 comments from the Francis Ngannou post)

I confirm, on lemmy.ca I don't see some of the posts you show:

ok that is interesting, you actually do get all 5 comments from the Jamahal Hill post though...
so kbin federated all of the comments to your server, but hasn't federated those comments to lemmy.sdf.org

perhaps I will try to unsubscribe from lemmy, re-subscribe, then make a comment
hopefully that will re-engage federation??

welp, now I'm hit with the dreaded 'subscribe pending' issue

definitely some gremlins in the machine somewhere

and my comment from Lemmy has not showed up on the kbin side yet after 5 minutes

I think I may also ask on the kbin side for some insight

Random thought about another possibility: filters because of (misinterpreted) NSFW content?

Maybe it's worth asking about this in one of the lemmy-help communities.

Let me join and compare (I'm on lemmy.ca).

I don't know if you're moderating any communities/magazines, but have you tried posting from a lemmy account on the kbin instance moderated by you, and then making your lemmy account a mod there? Or vice versa.

I've not tried that, I am only a moderator of 1 community here on lemmy.sdf.org

honestly the only reason I have a kbin account is for the mma magazine, it is the only community I wish would federate correctly but is still wonky for some reason

I think it'll get better. I've been on lemmy for only a week or so, but started to see kbin posts and comments (under the "all" category) only in the last couple of days.

We (mma@kbin.social) are federated with Lemmy but Lemmy.World especially has been going down a LOT lately

That's not their fault though. lemmy.world is constantly getting DDoS-ed :(
