What's the most nutritious food?

[–] ProfezzorDarke@feddit.de 14 points 1 year ago

The most nutrient dense food might be potatoes, if you're about proteins and stuff like omega3 then fish, and if you're all about the most vitamins then pickled kale and similar stuff

They weren't for off when they showed survival on Mars with just potatoes and vitamine pills. Potstoes are amazing, just not balanced, so add the necessary vitamins and minerals externally and you can survive for a very very long time on "just" potatoes.

Wait a second. Survival on Mars? And who are "they"?

[–] Carighan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh sorry, I meant The Martian, the novel (and/or movie) about someone surviving on Mars. It prominently shows a potato+vitamins diet, and I remember it was one of the bigger questions at the time the movie came out as to whether that would actually work or not. But, turns out, potatoes are really cool.

Oh, thanks. I was thinking "am I so out of touch with reality that I missed the man landing on Mars?" ><

I would have thought nuts or something like that.

It all really depends on your individual situation. It's impossible to make blanket statements like that since all food types have their pros and cons, it's more a matter of eating a varied mix of generally healthy things and not just eat only one type of food.
