Not counting Meta Quest. I'm curious about the adoption of Meta platforms amongst Lemmy users.

Everyone here pretending like the FB marketplace isn't the best option for used items now that CL is dead

[-] DinosaurSr@programming.dev 7 points 6 months ago

Yeah but you just use your spouse's facebook acct for that

[-] Silentiea@lemm.ee 3 points 6 months ago

Haha, yeah, I don't use Facebook or anything, but my partner absolutely uses marketplace and "buy nothing" groups on there.

Did something happen to Craigslist or just old age?

[-] HiddenLychee@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

In my area it's aged out. People that use CL are either scammers or trying to make a quick buck, as opposed to the FB marketplace which has both of those PLUS people who just want to get rid of shit and have no idea of the value or don't care about the value of their items.

It's slightly less popular for cars because they started charging for those listings

the best option

That would be ebay.

Fees are too high, and global market reach means prices are set at a global or national level rather than local. FB still king for cheap local stuff.
