I have this hat (beanie type, I guess) that I've had for just about 20 years now. I've been wearing it regularly, and it still seems to be in good shape, but I know it won't last forever. I'm very attached to this hat, silly though it may sound.

I'd like to have a replica or two of it made. I don't have a pattern, but it's not all that complicated. Seems to be made of acrylic, although relatively high quality and comfortable. Not entirely certain. If I can find somebody in the Pacific Northwest to make it for me, I could bring the hat over.

Sorry if this type of request isn't what the community is for. I can provide pictures if anyone is interested.

Suggestion: Try another hat.

Hold on, hear me out. We hear it all the time, things are just things. Material world, etc. Attachments are natural to these things, but you formed that attachment by wearing the hat. Think about how much you liked your last phone, then your new one. It's not the same only because it's a shorter term.

So, try another hat. If you hate it, what have you lost? Go back to the old one. If you like it, cycle them in and our, then, try another one. This is good for anything from clothing to your co.puter mouse to dishes to.. on and on.

If my place burned down, I'd be sad, but other than mementos, everything is replaceable.

All that being said, good luck on the hat! Backups are good, too ๐Ÿ˜‰ This is also why I leaned to sew using YT.

I actually have a lot of hats. My second favorite hat is one that I knit over a decade ago. Unfortunately, I can't knit anymore (hurts my hands and wrists). I swap out with other hats here and there, but I always go back to my old favorite.

Ahh yes, hope you find someone who can help. Sorry about your hands :(

Appreciated, but I'm adapting! I'll try to get some pictures on here tomorrow and maybe someone will be able to help (obviously I would pay for time and materials). If not, I think there are local knitting groups that I could reach out to.
