Nice “ no true Scotsman”
Anyway, you’re still not getting it, so I’ll try one more time.
Ever see that “Are we the baddies” skit by Mitchell and Webb? It’s two Nazi officers discussing if they are the bad guys or not after one of them notices all skulls, etc? You know, this guy https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/are-we-the-baddies
No one would probably say that skit is glorifying Nazis. The subs name is the same joke. The “PC Master Race” video it comes from was making the same damn joke. And the sub from Reddit embraced it because, well “Are we the baddies?”
All of this was hashed out once before like 8 years ago (I don’t know how long actually, but my point stands.)
So, to have to argue again (and then get accused of not being “left” enough, seriously? I’m as left as I want to fucking want to be, I’ve stood in a proud boys face and told the Nazi cunt to fuck off while breathing in the sweet fumes of tear gas. When you can say the same you get an opinion)
I’m sorry you can’t get the satire of the name, I really am, as that kind of rigidity just leads to fucking misery.
Hopefully you’ll grow out of it. Hopefully you’ll understand that satires entire purpose is to say “look at this thing in the most ridiculous way and understand how dumb and wrong it is.”
🦆 what's the name for the logical fallacy of incorrectly calling something "no true scotsman"
I wasn't making a generalisation about the identity of leftists, I was saying that "[PC enthusiasts using the term 'master race' to refer to themselves represents] no glorifying of Nazism" is not a leftwing position. this distinction is possible because "left wing" has definitions beyond just "what people who call themselves 'leftwing' think", like promoting social equality, and fighting entrenched hierarchies.
having some leftwing views (and taking leftwing actions, which, nice, thank you for your service, I've done a lot more than shout at someone, get teargassed, or go to a pride march, not saying you don't get an opinion though…) doesn't automatically make your support for using the term "master race" less rightwing.
anyway, "I'm as left as I fucking want to be" is a lot less ridiculous a thing to say than "I'm as left as they come".
PS yes I know mitchell and webb, they're not amazing, "are we the baddies" is definitely a lot better satire than "pc master race" tho.
