The game is free, you can also get it on the author's blog or through itch.io

The Last Sovereign (NSFW) is an 18+ RPGmaker game. The basic premise is this: What if you had a setting with a bunch of hentai tropes lumped together and played straight, with no porn logic or stupid characters?

You play as a middle aged, very competent army veteran who gains the powers of an incubus, and reluctantly uses them with the aim of making the world a better place, slowly developing a harem of well realized, cool characters along the way. There's sex scenes, obviously, but you very quickly forget all about them as you are plunged into an underdog story where you have to manage your fledgling armies + resources and have to constantly make tough decisions.

I don't get the other comments, this isn't something unusual or praiseworthy, TF2 has been getting these "updates" consisting of a new lootbox + community maps of dubious quality, consistently for years

Very reasonable, I hope the dev sticks to his guns and keeps a manageable pace. I feel that it's right to expect content updates coming in if the game is marked early access, but so long as you don't pull a Valheim, people shouldn't be mad at you

"A preliminary investigation indicates Kang knew the victim only online, having met him playing a fantasy video game called ArcheAge. According to the game's website, it is shutting down its North America and European servers this week because of a declining number of users. "

No wonder they don't have players left, this dude beat them all to death

Artisan TD, a classic tower defense game. I quit after the second map. It's not that it's bad, it just didn't grab my attention, doesn't seem to have anything unique going for it besides maybe the pretty visuals. There are dozens of games exactly like this one. As a fan of the genre, I might check it out after release if it's on a large sale.

Level Zero: Extraction, a PvP extraction shooter with the option of playing as the horror creature team that's out to kill everyone. Basically unplayable, not sure what the server situation is but playing from europe I had consistent 0.5sec-1sec delay on all actions. No comment since I couldn't really experience it.

Let's Minesweeper, a massively multiplayer game of Minesweeper. Not sure what I expected of this one, it's exactly what it says it is, you load into a huge map of minesweeper and clear it out for score and xp which translates into bragging rights and cosmetics (?). Unique experience and could be fun if you are the type of person who enjoys zoning out at minesweeper for an hour.

Mortal online 2

I got my fix for this experience through PvP minecraft servers, but not sure if any are still around today that are worth playing

Enderal, a total conversion mod for Skyrim. Free, just requires ownership of the skyrim base game or special edition (there's a version for either).

Has a whole new map, reworked classes, changes to combat, banger OST (here's my favorite, hits incredibly hard when you're listening to it in-game at a tavern) and the story is just incredible. I still think about it, and the choices I made, years later. Dozens of hours long, moreso if you are a completionist.

Feel lost still, very much miss the population on reddit. I browsed a lot of gaming subreddits, and the ones with dozens of daily posts there get maybe one per month(!) on their lemmy equivalent, and more niche subs don't even exist here. It sucks. Yes, I try to make posts, but I alone wont change things.

Dont use reddit for entertainment but still have to use it for tech support or product reviews, there is 0 competition in that regard. Tried using a site that searches through multiple reddit-esque sites for questions like this but gave up bcs 10/10 times the only answers were on Reddit.

I was always super interested in legendary equipment, so when I came back to the game after years away I just picked one weapon from the list, put it into gw2efficiency, expanded it's required materials list and looked through it until I saw something that requires me to do content which I felt comfortable doing, like map completion or open world events. From there I naturally re-familiarized myself with the game as I kept working towards the legendary.

Steam Next Fest, which is a regular event for showcasing upcoming games, is happening now on steam and will continue until February 12 at 10:00 AM PST (UTC-8).

With hundreds of demos available, even if you're only interested in a fraction of the games it's going to be difficult to try everything before the event ends. With that in mind, I'm hoping people can use this thread to share their thoughts on the titles they've played.

Which games did you enjoy, and which do you think suck? Please share your thoughts!

Genfanad, short for Generic Fantasy Adventure, used to be a browser-based parody/clone of OldSchool runescape with a very sarcastic and self aware sense of humor. If you're a fan of Josh Strife Hayes, you've probably seen his video on it a year back. I've never really played it myself, but I randomly checked the website today and found that the game transformed into some sort of MMO card battler hybrid?

Not going to lie that combination sounds super interesting to me but I'm very confused on why such a huge shift happened in the game's development direction. I had to check the date to make sure it's not April 1st.

Are there any fans of the game here that know why this happened, or want to share their feelings on the change/the state of the game? I've found very few people talking about it online

It's been a while since the open beta started, I haven't tried the game myself but if you did, do you recommend it? I would love to hear your thoughts about it in general, I'm interested in the game but haven't seen many reviews yet

I don't think the announcement is up on their website, but you can see it here on their Discord.

If you're never heard of it, it's an indie MMO that's going for an oldschool feel with the unique feature of dungeon masters interacting with the players live. You can see that it's super janky, but it has some charming features like the classes and the setting. It was previously set to release Q3 2023.

Alongside the name change, they've also announced a rework of the combat system and removed the release date estimate.

I barely follow the game's development so maybe this delay was something that could be seen from miles away but I personally thought the game would be a fun way to pass a few weeks, especially given that there's not much else in the MMO space that's coming out soon besides Palia. In my opinion, I think this game is destined to have a niche following before petering out some months after release, and a combat rework by itself won't change that, it's just wasting time and money.

Were you aware that the game existed at all? And how do you feel about the changes?

With the curent Steam summer sale going on, most MMORPGs on there are going to be on sale. Which titles do you think are worth picking up? If you bought anything new, how do you feel about it?
