Private frontends and decentralized social media like Funkwhale and PeerTube will really be the most accessible form of piracy ever if more people start using it this way
Raddle is literally run by insane people who admit to using sockpuppets and have incoherent beliefs
Getting whiplash between "haha Russian invaders and bots get fucked!!!! Finland!!!! Wooooo Finland!!!!!!" and "ah, we take no pleasure in doing this, our hands are tied"
Maybe the professional communications and Mastodon bubble Linus has been posting in led him to believe everyone in the world hates Russians now and that would be really well received
Geopolitics posters will no longer be contained by petty accusations of "bringing politics into it", the NATOids have drawn blood. There is no turning back now.
Search is really useless and made even worse by federation never working as intended (even after subscribing), just try any of the Misskey forks and you will see what I mean. There are too many things to list.
They can just scan and open and reclose the mail they do this to everyone now I am so serious. Difficult to do at scale though so honestly I take it back, if everyone did it the mail way it could increase surveillance costs? Escalating everyone's piracy to require forensic cracking at a federal or international level would skyrocket costa which should be a goal
Okay let me try again. Where are their servers conspicuously NOT located?
Very cool will check this out
The idea of people viewing the whole ActivityPub protocol's potential through the deliberately stripped down and self-sabotaging platform of default Mastodon is still so sad to me
Mail is extremely insecure, it's actually really nefarious for them to recommend it. I still use Mullvad sometimes because it's just so cheap and fast. I know it's some kind of high level NATO spyware though. Just look at where their servers are. I mean fucking come on now.
You're not breaking the fourth wall, this is not a parasocial interaction either or whatever new term people get attached to, this is not "tapping the glass", this is just interacting online.
