Solid state batteries are more energy dense, meaning that if all you want is 300 miles of range on a charge (perfectly fine with it's faster charging), then you can have less battery for the same range. Now how much lighter I'm not sure, but it's in the right direction!

Oh God, Y2K. My dad was in the Air Force and his unit was responsible for a big base's networking. My dad had to go into work that night as they expected the entire base's network to just erupt. We were all so worried about it and then ... Nothing happened at all, he was home by 2am.

I think this is honestly it. I was in 5th grade and remember all of it (and the world response to it) very vividly. I really miss being able to greet people at the gate when they came to visit :(

If iRacing and my other sim racing gear worked with Linux I'd make the switch asap. I already have popOS on another hard drive and everything other than iRacing has worked well

In the case of makeshift drones dropping grenades in Ukraine you'd be right. However, these aren't off the shelf drones repurposed for dropping bombs, these are strikes from military drones just like the ones the US uses regularly (wonder where Israel got theirs)
