Smart people do dumb things sometimes.

I know cats that blink the middle light if you brake hard.

EDIT: I'm not fixing that typo

That's 90% of good tech

I thought the same thing about blinkers and turning the wheel.

Maybe, but the point is that it's open. There's a much higher chance that one of the companies that builds parts will make good decisions.

Most of these people would be okay with harvesting a dead person's organs so long as they aren't theirs.

He can't even get the order right. The phrase is "[thing] and also water is wet."

This is the family farm. I AM THE OSHA

I was cleaning out a chemical storage closet at work. A hydrogen chloride container leaked out onto some iodine containers. I picked one up (bare handed) and sat it down in the grass. About thirty seconds later, I noticed the steam boiling up from around the bottom of the container. This is about 45 seconds worth of contact.

To be fair, this works with humans, too.

I recently heard that the nerves controlling the pinkie and ring finger are intertwined to the degree that it's almost impossible for most people to move the pinkie and ring fingers without the other. Does it count as "independent" if one twitches while the other does the real moving? I think I may finally be special!

I loved using hoppy.network to build a tunnel to my VM on my home server over the last year, but there are better options than 8 dollars a month. The service needs to be available to the wider internet, but run on my home server. I can use Linode to get the job done at 5 a month, but my home server is an 8 core, 16 thread Zen with 24 gigs memory and that's a single, low-priority Linode instance with less storage than my server has working memory. I've considered using Tailscale, but that solution strikes me as hacky. Any suggestions?
