If I can play videogames in my head while I'm at work, great. If my addict dopamine brain gets highjacked so that I don't know how to do anything except consume ads then bad.

You better figure it out before the bed bugs bite.

Nevermind. After days of back and forth with them they said that they only have that feature available to big companies that have an account with them for a year or more, which is definitely annoying. I'm going to give Brevo a shot next, I heard someone mention them in a thread before about this. It looks like their free tier allows for 300 emails a day. I'll let you know how that goes if you are still looking.

Oh wow that looks like it might be perfect thanks so much! I just switched to a random other instance but luckily switching instances on Mastodon is easy. Especially since I don't post there much. Ill move there now, thanks again!

Hell yeah! Great movie.

Except that movie had no catharsis only tension.

Waking Life

Another reason to move away from companies that harvest and sell your data as much as possible.

I am in the exact same boat. I just switched to Proton as it looked like they had these features right away. But it turns out you have to explain what you want to use smtp for before they allow you to generate tokens. Which is probably due to them attracting a high amount of scammers due to their really good privacy. So I can understand but it is a tad annoying. If you are willing to wait I'd give them a try. Their business plan is cheaper than googles and gives you a lot and they are open source.

Literally just found out about them. They seem awesome so far!

Oh thats super cool that they do that. It would definitely be cool if there were more things like that or even publicly run instances that could be searched through.

Could be a huge deal.

I'm especially curious about news articles as those have a very short window for when they would be interesting/relevant. As apposed to a meme someone could have saved for years and it will still be funny. Like do you have specific news sites you frequent or RSS feeds or what?

I installed using the Lemmy-Ansible method and my hjson.config file looks like this:

{
database: {
host: postgres
password: "{{ postgres_password }}"
}
hostname: "{{ domain }}"
pictrs: {
url: "http://pictrs:8080/"
api_key: "{{ postgres_password }}"
}
email: {
smtp_server: "postfix:25"
smtp_from_address: "noreply@psychedelia.ink"
tls_type: "none"
}
}

Leaving it blank for the most part worked for every other aspect of the instance. But email does not work at all even when I left it the way it was originally. Any help would be appreciated I know this is probably a pretty basic thing but I'm very new at all of this. Thanks!

Just as the title says, when I try to click on the "create" button (after filling in all the details for the community) it spins for a half a second and then nothing happens. Any ideas?

A place to share psychedelic artwork if anyone is interested. Psychedelic Artwork !psychedelic_artwork@psychedelia.ink

I made this instance along with a copy of the subreddit I created almost 10 years ago as a place for people to share psychedelic art that they like. Hopefully there isn't some rule about sharing instances on other instances. Also not sure exactly if its possible to share a link to a community from another instance on this instance
