wow, that's terrifying and gross ๐Ÿ™ƒ it would have been free for people not to do this

i hope it stays that way. i'm sick of these ceos and their garbage :/

๐ŸŽ‰ long live lemmy ๐Ÿ’™

exactly my thinking :/ we still have a huge "cop ego" and profiling problem here in the states, too. so many americans, especially p.o.c., getting profiled all the time for nothing. they're even worse off and trump gets to ask for "damages". it's disgusting

same. trump has seemed to be so slippery and able to get out of pretty much anything :/

came here to say this, ty ๐Ÿ’™

true, true, and true. i didn't even think about admins. just as important D:

oh, of course, you're absolutely right. it may take another rancid campaign from youtube parallel to reddit's shenanigans that fill in the ux piece of it. or, who knows, maybe it would grow organically as people start to see their favorite sites and resources always come with a peephole and a coin slot ๐Ÿ™ƒ

i think kresten has the right idea, i've heard good things about youtube-dl

cheers ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ’™

looks like subscribing to kbin.social magazines is not working again but any other community i could find on stuff like beehaw.org or lemmy.ml let me subscribe and now i really have a pretty good home feed going :D hope y'all are still enjoying it too! i hope a lot of people stay. imo the internet is too mature for companies to force people away or make ridiculous changes to their entire userbase. decentralized, federated stuff keeps the control to the users :D

for the longest time a lot of images posted to reddit were really posted on imgur (until they started hosting it on their own, too). is there a fediverse'd imgur we should be using to complement lemmy? its docs say it shouldn't be used for large images and videos.

pixelfed seems more like a federated flickr or instagram, not just simple image/album hosting like imgur. thoughts? ty ๐Ÿ’™
