Not an issue when you pirate πŸ€”

100% capitalism is part of the blame, why isnt there a public option for music? Promoting local artists that are in the public domain and can tour and make a living in public venues. Instead we have ticket master and other such big music. Companies, now this is applied to music but really can be applied to every sector.

Elect local politicians who can make change for the people on the local level.

While very true, dont discount apathy and lurking. I may have made 15-20 comments on reddit for tge 10+ yrs I was on the platform. There were so many ppl 1. That typically someone else would respond. Two reddit descended into ppl who just want to argue semantics. Here without the karma farming people have more genuine responses

Over on mastodon on the other hand... I get the feeling people brought some of the negative aspects of twitter over there. Still overwhelmingly positive but I tend to get more info on lemmy now than mastodon Imo

Hey very valid statement and salute to you.

Personally, I believe this ultimately hurts and affects customers like yourself. Because YT is spending all of this additional effort to effect and crowdout, if looked at a very tiny percentage. Instead of investing into platform improvements for visitors and creators.

YT should of focused on competition which is every other streaming service. If they provided shows still using network ads breaks, instead of these psycho every 4min you 2.5mins of ads unless you pay is just extortion. Plus they aren't really sharing revenue with creators... sigh

Or just one more thing to add to the open seas of piracy. Or start supporting nebula?

Although this would be the case for piracy, as a better means to support artist, because I pirate my music. I do attend more live music venues which gives more revenue directly to the artist

I think Valve is about to pull a Nintendo on Nintendo. While they have been playing 3d chess against Sony and Microsoft, by focusing on the pure gaming aspects of gaming. The one blind spot they have always maintained was modding, emulation, and hardware communities. That plus shift how Xbox live wasn't just a phase, but a elevation of the gaming experience.

Valve has stayed constant following the gamers and answering their calls and concerns. Stayed true to gamers and the developers.

As a life long Nintendo fan, this makes me happy and sad. picks up steamdeck

Glad I'm not alone. But I think playing the smurfs and carebears is creating a new type of cynical super villian.

Best of luck to you
