LineageOS is derived from the normal android ROM and CalyxOS is similar to android as well, as far as I remember. The look and feel is supposed to be what people are most used to.

Ah, well, I tried. I think we will see it pick up more as more people move over. Those doing the daily on reddit are unlikely to leave it; At least for now.
This happened to me I think in 19.3. If you run it in terminal it usually tells you what failed and you can troubleshoot from there. Sudo can sometimes get it to run. Try that, maybe it will help you out.
