I don’t think mine came with any fans, but if it did they are installed along with others, and it runs quiet except for gpu fan.

I don’t know about all the hardware, but I have that same case and absolutely love it. There were so many times putting the thing together were I found myself impressed by the thoughtfulness of design and ease of use. It’s dope. Never thought I’d have strong opinions about a case!

Slint. Maybe some post punk, maybe some twee?

I too love beans. Great write up! I was about to leave a pedantic correction that sweet peas are edible, just toxic, but then that got me thinking about what does “edible” even mean? Like how poisonous or unpalatable does something have to be for a line to be drawn? Eating it once will kill you, like death caps, or maybe eating it your entire life will increase risk of death like alcohol? Something in between like sweet peas?

One persons drawback is another persons “salt of life” haha. Yea they aren’t healthy, that’s for sure. Tasty though!

I can’t really taste the difference between beef and impossible burger IF the burger is a cm or so thick. If you tried to make a restaurant burger (2-3cm thick, rare/med rare) I think the difference would be pretty noticeable. It’s good in ground beef recipes, too (like pasta sauce or stuffed squash). I’m so happy this alternative is available. Big fan! It’s not that much more than beef I think? I dunno it all seems pretty cheap compared to fish/coffee/beer/wine.

I haven’t gotten too far (a bit after you unlock your second element abilities) but I agree the reviews seem odd. I think the story so far is decent. The new combat style is not what I’d expect from ff (I miss turn based) but I still enjoyed it. However I think the combat has some depth the game just doesn’t incentivize because encounters are so easy. I read people mention you could do different strategies and playstyles and rack up combos to enemies, but i never found myself using any of that because the combat is so simple you can just do your regular basic attack over and over for every fight and there’s no reward/incentive for not doing that. There’s no items or paths for making a build or strategizing fights. The gameplay feels linear and kind of filler between cutscenes of story. Leveling and gear increases stats but it doesn’t really make a noticeable difference because the game is linear and scales with you.

I wouldn’t say it’s a bad game, but I’m also confused by the super high scores. Also, allegedly they fixed this, but I found myself awkwardly trying to navigate while never using the right analog stick because the camera blur was so bad. Like maybe the graphics are good but I never saw them because every time I moved it was a watercolor painting.

For country and folk you should check out the labels “paradise of bachelors” and “Tompkins square”. Good mix of new and reissues. There’s a book called “penguin guide to jazz” that can help you cherry pick some albums to listen to to figure out which types of jazz / which players you like. For rock check out what came out in the 60s and late 70s. 77-80 was a wild time for rock/punk! I don’t know edm… have you tried “gas”? He’s got some great albums.

I’d check old album reviews from tinymixtapes (sadly defunct now). They had a section called “Eureka!” that was a fantastic way to stay abreast of new albums, especially electronic and hip-hop.
