Costume Quest and Costume Quest 2 would be something you could play together. The player character is the twin of your choice, a girl or a boy, on a mission to save their sibling. You would have to read it to her and probably solve the puzzles, but she would be able to do the fights once you got going since it is turn based. It's very kid friendly.

I'm sure there is a spreadsheet they are working their way down.

I use Instagram primarily to follow quilters, who are primarily older and mostly women. A lot of them are relentless self promotion machines, as you would expect of small business owners who advertise through Instagram, so of course they are creating the new account Instagram has alerted them about. I'd imagine a huge proportion of new Threads users are the same, and their followers get notices about them using the new service. There is no way for Lemmy to do that.

That's what I'm doing, but I was using all to find new places to subscribe to before the spam started.

I don't necessarily want to block them, but I wish I could mute either the community or the account posting it all

Sure, but a lot of users here are minimizing how bad it was, so I wanted to be specific about how explicitly hateful it was.

I saw a wave of the harassing spam they were getting right before they defederated. One was a meme about lynching drag performers. Another was a picture of an erection that was posted in what looked like every feminist and trans friendly space, asking if it was bigger than the ones owned by the denizens of the communities. I'm sure it was just a small fraction of what they were dealing with as more shitty little hatemongers find their way to Lemmy, but I happened to catch it by sorting by new at exactly the wrong time. I can't blame the Beehaw mods for not wanting to deal with the psychological toll that comes with manually moderating that kind of content.

The stuff I saw was worse than just slurs. One was a meme about murdering drag performers. Really hateful shit.

Less than an hour ago, I was reporting some pretty vile shit that was being spammed on some of their places I was subscribed to. It was a lot, all at the exact same time. If they are getting coordinated attacks like that regularly, I'm not sure I can really blame them for wanting to wait for the tools they need to keep it in check.

I wish the mom was in the picture because the difference is really pronounced.

It's still a baby, so hopefully it makes it.

We've always had groundhogs around, but only the usual brown ones until now.

It's not a great picture, but he ran when I tried opening the door.

I used recipes from Rose Levy Beranbaum's Cake Bible. The cake is her classic chocolate butter cake, baked in three 6 inch pans rather than two 9 inch pans, then cut in half. The frosting is her chocolate silk meringue with 3 egg whites rather than 2. I eliminated the water and heated the egg white and sugar slurry over simmering water after I failed twice to get sugar syrup into my stand mixer at her suggested temperature.

I was able to take the piece with the handle that was still around his neck off so he could come out with some dignity.
