"As Chrome and Gmail will share the urls with Google".

Chrome and Gmail are Google. You can replace this with "As Google and Google will share urls with Google" without any loss of accuracy.

What I want is to see the new posts of my network. With chronological, I know when I see a previously seen post, that I'm done. With algorithmic, I'm scrolling past tons of posts I've seen before, hoping to find a new one every once in a while. And I never know when I'm done, so I frustratingly close the app after a longer time.

On Mobile Firefox (and probably Chrome as well) you can choose to "install app" when viewing the a Lemmy webpage. It gives a remarkable useful app-like experience.

When on a Lemmy site on mobile, in Firefox you can go to the three-dots menu and select "install". You get a shortcut on your phone that will take you to an app like version of Lemmy.
