This is exactly my take. I can't in good conscious buy a Blizzard game right now, so I kind of wanted this to go through.

Every other part of me did not want this to go through. With how popular game pass is, and how many studios they're buying, this is just a recipe for a bait and switch and a bad situation for gamers down the road.

I just edited my post. I'm going to see if we can get one created.

And what do you think about the new format for releases?

I think it's true that nothing captures the imagination of the community like a big new expansion, but it sounds like that's not what expansions will be going forward.

I really dislike it, but it won't stop me from buying a game. I was recently without internet and went to play a game on my Steam Deck and was surprised to find a game I had been playing required access.

What bugs me most about it is that it seems like everything these days is tilted towards the companies. If a game doesn't require the internet, the only reason it's there is to collect data on what you're doing and maybe to help enforce DRM. It's bad enough that I can only rent games from Steam (although bless Valve for making gaming on Linux so good), now I can't even play the games I "own" if I don't have a pipe back to the company? Ugh.

That sub really helped when I was feeling down for sure!

I've used https://reddit.com/r/cptsd as a support group for awhile. It never felt right to post such sensitive discussions onto a platform controlled by a tech company trying to monetize its content, so I was really happy when things like Lemmy began taking off. In my opinion, support communities belong in user-owned spaces like this.

I use Beehaw as a provider, and I thought it might be a good place to host a CPTSD community because of Beehaw's rules and ethos. I had a look at what's existing, and this is the closest one I could find. There's !cptsd@lemmy.ml (am I referring to that correctly?), but it's dead.

Is anyone aware of a good CPTSD community, or would there be interest/support in creating one on Beehaw?

Edit: I've inquired to see how this works: https://beehaw.org/post/554142

Guild Wars 2 for sure. It's one of the games where I never turn the music off.
