For me it is this. When I was married he didn't understand when I would request reminders to go to the bathroom, shower, eat, do laundry. He laughed. He thought I had dementia.

Nope just adhd with a swiss cheese memory.

This has been my biggest complaint. Wanna read the discussion? Be prepared to dig for it. It's awful.

The largest thing I've noticed right now is there's almost no new content. Like at all. There was some repeating but not like right now.

I'm a mod and almost none of the small subs I mod for are transitioning off of reddit as yet.

I do need to learn to mod here....

Wait. So this is only if you post a image based comment?

20 years ago these were great. Now? Ye gods I'm too old for that tiny stuff.

I have several subs that I mod that the other mods want to remain open. I get it. I really do. So I keep notifications on and mod as needed but spend my time here.

Can I also hide here?

[-] Tinawebmom@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Yup just read that. I'm pretty ticked off. They'll hit the large subs first then trickle down to where I'm hiding

How is your son? 😁

You can't actually convince them that the way they think is wrong. They're programmed at this point. Refusing to give them an echo chamber is the best option.

Mod of small (~26,000 users) sub. We'll be staying dark indefinitely. Talking to my other mods for other subs and recommending they do the same. We're tiny but hopefully it sends a message to our users.

Remember secret Santa?

I was talking to my tech kids (programmers for a very well known company) I told them how puzzled I was. The guy that created secret Santa was gung-ho to create a new one the second reddit announced they were closing it down. Then he disappeared.

The kids then explained non-compete and why it's always included with contracts.

Reddit closed secret Santa down but wouldn't let him bring a similar thing back.

Why? What is wrong with them?

PS this is conjecture only I haven't spoken to him as he truly is MIA

How many subs went dark? The link is not showing that as of 1445 PDT
