Most lemmy.ml users and communities are perfectly fine. I didnt notice a higher number of problematic users from ml than from other instances mine is federated to. I think hexbear and lemmygrad and a bunch of nazi instances are defederated.

It depends. You have clubs that give consecences for this kind of behaviour and clubs that downplay and ignore it. You have fan scences where these people are a small minority and you have scences where they dominate.

It is never black or white, but a spectrum. In the case of Maccabi fans it is a very dark shade from what i have read now. Especially as they have many ties with the IDF and are openly celebrating the crimes if not partaking in them personally

Yeah, how can people not see this? The "American Dream" and times of middle class prosperity were very obviously before China opened its economy and became the new industrial hub of the world. And when off-shoring started, so did real wage stagnation/decline.

Selling the declining American middle class plastic toys did not "make" that class. What made it were stable well paying manufacturing jobs. Trump won't bring those back with a trade war with China, but the claim that Chinese labor "made" the American middle class is just delusional.

It is not the only reason. In swing states like Michigan it seems to have been the deciding factor.

However i doubt that even with a decent campaign of addressing the economic concerns of normal people the Democrats could have hacked it. With the steadfast support for Israel they have shown everyone whose ancestry is somewhere south of the European alps, that they are second grade people, easily dispensable if necessary.

Israel claims to be the state representing Judaism as a religion and Jews as an ethnicity. Israel heavily lobbied for things like the application of the IHRA definition of antisemitism by allied countries. That definition is conflating anti-zionism with antisemitism, which means conflating all of Judaism with Israel.

So Israel is responsible for some antisemitism as its actions cause hate against Israel and Israel works to make this hate go towards all Jews instead. This serves to purposes. The first is to always claim antisemitism, when Israel is rightfully criticized. The second is to hold all Jews outside Israel hostage to support Israel and to make them less safe, so they feel like they need to support Israel as a "safe haven".

Israel profits from antisemitism and antisemitism profits from Israel, which is why some of the greatest supporters of Zionism have been staunch antisemites. Finally when it comes to people being attacked as "antisemites" for criticizing Israel, these are disproportionately Jews. Jews that are against Zionism are a great danger for the narrative of Israel, so they take special care to attack them.

That could happen. Last time the US started a trade war with Europe it didnt go so well for them though. And as Trump is looking at another trade war with China, and maybe also going to war with Iran all sounds a bit too ambitious at once.

The also refused to participate in a minute of silence before kick-off for at least 200 people who died in the Valencia floods.

If anyone wants to know what kind of people they are, this shows it. They believe themselves superior to anyone and they extend empathy to no one.

If France pushes for full economic sanctions on Israel their economy will tank even further. The EU is Israels largest trading partner with 22% of their exports (second after US with 26%) and 31% on imports (US second with 13%).

If the EU uses that to pressure other nations like Turkey and Azerbaidschan it gets grim. Of course the US can throw them a permanent lifeline. At some 50-100 billion $ a year of economic aid on top of the military aid. I wonder how popular an "Israel support tax" of 500$ would be with the average American.

That is true. Which is why it doesn't matter if the bombs given to Israel are red or blue.

However now Democrats lost over genocide. Now AIPAC cannot play both parties anymore by making blind support for Israel the deciding factor. The Democrats lost because of Israel. Now they need to purge the Zionists and rebrand as the non genocide party, if they want to win moving on. This locks AIPAC in as being only in support of the Republicans, which limits their political influence.

If it wasn't for Harris/Biden loss, there was no hope for Palestinians, or any other people in West Asia in regards to US policy. Now there is a chance that one side of US policy will change.

Well now that the election is lost, the Democrats could make true on their claim they would seriously end this, but had to wait until after the election...

I doubt they will, because every of their action has shown to be equally strong genocide supporters. But we should see the next days, as Israel still doesnt let anywhere close to 350 Trucks into Gaza, leave alone any into the north of Gaza. The ultimatum is running out.

Also as weapons deliverys to Israel have been and are illegal anyways under US law, now would be a great chance to get every Republican and Democrat who voted for them or approved them as part of the administration into jail and in front of a court.

Oh wait, they wont because breaking the law, which unsurprisingly helped the convicted felon win, was worth it, so genocide could be further supportet.
