Idk about Che, but that’s Fidel Castro. Fidel was socially progressive in his later years, and Che probably would’ve been but his life was cut short. Today Cuba is a world leader in queer rights, especially considering the 2022 family referendum.

It seems like that this depiction could lead to horseshoe theory. Communists have discipline, community, disdain for bourgeois democracy, and nationalism. We do not have reactionary nationalism, social Darwinism, or support from the propertied classes. Things that this movie doesn’t show. I can very easily see some teacher showing this and saying “these are the evils of totalitarianism and collectivism.”
I’ve heard people try to connect this to Hamas, disgusting.

Lol, just because people have a legal “right” to some things doesn’t mean we don’t have a right to criticize the ways it’s damaging and there are far better alternatives. It’s also notable that in many places “private property” owners are not allowed the “right” to do what they wish with their land if it might be beneficial to the ecosystem because it would decrease “property values.”
That’s fine in Europe, but to any USians reading clover is not native here and there are natives you could/should be planting. Honey bees are also not native fyi, shout-out to native pollinators.
