Also you can't program an open-source project in a way that prevents a group of people from using it. It's public and anyone can download and deploy it. So "kbin" can't do anything about them, existing servers defederating them is the only way to go

Also at least this is used to build solar panels, a definite step up from coal and oil plants

So where are we all supposed to go now? / It’s the end of a social era on the web. That’s probably a good thing. But I already miss the places that felt like everyone was there. in c/fediverse@lemmy.world

For me, the "unfinishedness" of the fediverse mentioned in the article also makes up a lot of its charm - but I can see how this can be an issue for people who want their services to Just Work
