Why is it even called artificial intelligence, when it´s obviously just mindless artificial pattern reproduction?

I feel like Fediverse users are nicer to each other and more generous with upvotes than reddit. in c/showerthoughts@lemmy.world

I also have that perception. When people disagree, instead of becoming toxic, they stay oddly cool and nice to each other here. Let´s hope this lasts when more and more reddit users join ....
