Wonder if it’s panning out.

Really depends on the lens.

mechanical /mĭ-kăn′ĭ-kəl/ adjective

Of or relating to machines or tools.
"mechanical skill."

Operated or produced by a mechanism or machine.
"a mechanical toy dog."

Of, relating to, or governed by mechanics.

You're using the second definition and everybody else, including me, is thinking of the first or third. I would call anything that has a mechanism integrated into it, such as a manual slide that covers a camera, no matter how simple, to be mechanical. A playground teeter totter is pushing the definition, but I'd say it's technically mechanical.

I saw probably the same photo as you! The article wasn't even about that, we just noticed it in the photo. I immediately went and taped over my camera.

I was about to say that catholics aren't as politically fucked as the evangelicals, but I looked up the data and the difference is down to 5%.

When I was young and personally knew some catholics, they seemed so much more fun than the stuffy evangelicals. Their parents voted for Democrats and were much more permissive with their kids compared to protestants. Either my experience is fairly unique or catholics have changed.

I know evangelical and protestant don't mean the same thing but at least where I grew up almost all the protestants were evangelical or worse. Yeah it gets worse.

Please forgive the source, it doesn't appear to be biased.

Or elitists that make something significantly less bad impossible because they can't have blood on their hands.

The people who didn't vote have more blood on their hands than the ones who voted for Kamala. Basic practicality for the common good is disappearing, just like the capitalists wanted to achieve with their think tank wedge issues and culture wars.

I live in a highly religious part of the country. 79% of the state is some form of christian.

I have had several conversations with people who do not comprehend that catholics are christian. In fact I even had an argument about it here on Lemmy a while back. I wonder if someone will pop out again to try to tell me that catholics aren't christians.

To be fair, they all should.

Does the Pope shit in the woods?

My favorite is mushrooms and DMT. I don't like acid very much but I'd love to try X.

His potential neurodivergence does not excuse the evil. The majority of autistic people comprehend morality.

Congratulations on your success. I hope what's coming doesn't touch you too badly. I mean it.
