Not that it's a competition, but we have 1.2 million hectares burned in British Columbia this year, vs. the 180 thousand for all of EU. I just found the scale remarkable. We just have so much less dense population in BC that the number of people affected in the EU is drastically different. Stay safe everyone.

My guess is someone at the credit card company screwed up. May have even been someone new.

I think the idea here is that it's a man-made reservoir and they're not worried about maintaining an ecosystem.

My thoughts are that the title should be relevant.

My "Subscribed" "Hot" currently has 3 items from today and then gets into stuff from months ago.

Seems completely broken to me.

I don't know how, but Lemmy is the least confusing to use application within the Fediverse.

I've only used Lemmy and this is a scary thought.

I know some people don't want it anyway, but if there is ever going to be a mass exodus from the corporations to the fediverse, fediverse needs to seriously work on the sign up process. And can't threaten defederation every 5 minutes, which probably means they need proper modding tools/features.

My guess is that people who are against it are expecting to make less money because advertisers will be able to say they don't want to be on streams that are labeled "x".
