I liked it because of the ambivalence.

Death is not looking at the child, He stares at the angel of life as if he is waiting.

You could interpret it this way:

The angel of Life is protecting the child or, in a bigger view, every person from death. If the angel of life abandons us, we enter the domain of death.

I was not trying to go towards a biblical intepretation and i do not see death as evil. Maybe the choice of an angel for "life" was not the best choice.

Edit after a night of Sleep: It is interesting how hard wired religious themes are in ones subconcious. I wonder how i would have depicted life and death with another cultural background.

PromptA baby dressed in a nightgown lays in the center of the image in a crib. The baby is sleeping On the left side stands death incarnate, a skeleton in a black robe holding a scythe. On the right side of the picture stands a beautiful female angel representing life incarnate. She makes a praying gesture. she has a glowing halo around her head. the room is a beautiful kids room.

The penguin slides up and hits back with some smooth lines:

"Hold up, big bear, you’re lookin' pretty cold, All that muscle, but your moves are old. I may be snack-sized, but I got the speed, While you trudge on slow, yeah, I’m built for speed.

South Pole rockin’, with my squad in black-tie, We got style and chill, I don’t even gotta try. Sure, you’re big, got the teeth and the claws, But I slide on ice like I’m breakin’ laws.

You’re the king of frost, but I’m the duke of dive, Graceful underwater, yeah, I thrive. I got the waddle, got the groove, got the scene, While you’re out there solo, tryna act mean.

Snack-sized? Yeah, but I got the flavor, A penguin’s chill vibe, something to savor. So back up, Ice King, take a bow and freeze, 'Cause this bird’s got heat—you’re out in the breeze!"

As i am not american and will not touch the topic election with a ten feet flagpole: I intepret this as George R.R. Martin vs. Brain ;-)

Apparently yes, but i was not aware of the game when i created the image.

Ahh is see now: Stars War !

According to the Bible the guardian of garden Eden is a cherub. If you Google cherub you should hopefully see some similarity. Except the multi eyed lovecraftian creatures which will also pop up.

Blood-Soaked Apple Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  1. Crust of War

    • 2 1/2 cups flour from the ground bones of the fallen
    • 1 teaspoon salt from the tears of enemies
    • 1 teaspoon sugar, sweet as the taste of victory
    • 1 cup butter, as cold as the heart of Khorne
    • 4-8 tablespoons ice water, chilled like the winds of the Chaos Wastes
  2. Filling of Conquest

    • 6-8 large apples, plucked from the orchards of conquered realms
    • 2/3 cup sugar, as much as the spoils of war
    • 2 tablespoons flour, as binding as the chains of slaves
    • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, fiery as the pits of battle
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, dark as the secrets of Chaos
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger, sharp as the blades of Khorne
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, sour as the defeat of foes
  3. Topping of Triumph

    • 1 egg, beaten as fiercely as Khorne's war drums
    • 1 tablespoon sugar, glistening like the sweat of warriors

Instructions

  1. Forge the Pie Crust:

    • In the cauldron of doom, combine bone-flour, salt, and sugar.
    • Mix in the cold, heartless butter until the mixture resembles the coarse ground of a battlefield.
    • Gradually stir in ice water, just enough to bind the souls of the damned.
    • Divide the dough into two, wrap in the skins of foes, and chill in the dark recesses of the Chaos realm.
  2. Prepare the Filling:

    • Skin and slice the apples, as one prepares for war.
    • In the trophy bowl, mix apples with the spoils of sugar, flour, fiery cinnamon, dark nutmeg, sharp ginger, and lemon juice, sour as defeat.
  3. Assemble the Pie:

    • Preheat your infernal oven to the fires of battle.
    • Unleash the first half of the dough onto a pie plate, as a warlord claims his throne.
    • Pile high the apple filling, like the bodies of vanquished foes.
    • Cover with the second half of the dough, sealing the fate of the captured.
    • Carve the symbols of Khorne into the crust, letting the steam escape like the dying breaths of enemies.
    • Anoint the crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar, like the glory of victory.
  4. The Final Conquest:

    • Bake in the fiery depths for 50 minutes, until the crust is as golden as the spoils of war and the filling bubbles with the rage of battle.
    • Let the pie cool, as the battlefield stills after the storm of war.

Feast upon this Blood-Soaked Apple Pie, a tribute to the glory and might of Khorne!
