Perez is so slow, slowing down on an outlap is not enough to let him through

Since I discovered RAW Power thanks to Lemmy and used it happily since, I thought I post the availability of this more advanced app recently released. With the uncertainty around Affinity Photo after the Canva acquisition, maybe it of interest to some :)

That must be it, I wasn’t smart enough to link the actual image URL, I linked the post as you wrote 😆

Interesting tip on linking the url, I will try it. Tested it in the past but I think I did something different and didn’t work as I hoped

Does it mean the end of no subscription professional editing suite or is it a good thing?

I like Schneid Kaffee in Munich, but it’s a bit out of the city center.

As far as I know, the "four thirds" mount was an open, with the same sensor size as its successor, the "micro four thirds" mount. The former was a DSLR system, the latter is a mirrorless system. I don't think there are any commercially available interchangeable lens cameras with that aspect ratio, that don't use either of the two standard mounts - they are both from the Micro Four Thirds Standard Group (link).

Canon latest mirrorless bodies are awesome and also good value (but stay away from the R100). As others have said, good native RF lenses are expensive. They have also cheaper options, but what they miss is the good value middle ground usually represented by Sigma and Tamron. One big upside is the EF to RF adapter, that works very well and lets you use the lens you already have before investing. Remember that a lens remains with you decades, contrary to a body, and paying a bit more could really be a good choice in the long run. Just my view, a bit in contrast with many steering you away from Canon. Quality wise, there’s no difference between brands: most importantly a camera should disappear in your hands and be really ergonomic - go in a shop and handle them all!

I despise this SUV trend, too, but isn’t it a bit extreme to judge a person just by the car they drive? The majority of people don’t even think about it and the market is flooded with these things, so they have less and less choice. There are cases where SUVs make sense, in mountainous regions and where it snows a lot, but I agree that space has to be better used and public space respected.

Take a look at Keychron: they make mechanical keyboards of different price levels with the most diversified layouts and features. Usually they have a switch to change from Mac to Win layout and have Bluetooth and wired versions.

Stark! Enjoy it, but also give your body time to adapt and don’t rush it ;) that box is a really good starting kick

  • Keychron Q8 Pro
  • Gazzew U4Tx + a couple of Kailh Box Navy switches
  • MTNU Beige keycaps (lovely new profile, GMK made double-shot PBT, expensive - even more due to Colemak)

I bought the keyboard immediately when I found out they made a BT version of the Q8 (I use a Q10 daily at the office), as I was looking for an iPad compatible one. Very happy with it!

Just wanted to share the link to the livestream of the designer Matt3o looking at the first batch of the MTNU keycaps. They are made by GMK out of PBT, with double shot legends. The profile has been developed by Matt3o and GMK as a Cherry-height spherical angle shape. First batch is currently shipping out and has the WoB, Beige and Susu colorways.

I find it really interesting and I don’t think I read anything here regarding this.

Hullo together! I finally got to order my first iPad (Pro 11")! I'm a long time MacBook and iPhone user and do a little photography now and then. On the Mac, I use Olympus OM Workspace to import and decode the RAW files. They go as TIFF files in Affinity Photo for the actual editing - I find the ORF engine in Affinity much worse than the "official" Olympus one.

Affinity Photo for iPad is a thing, but:

  • importing directly could mean use an inferior RAW engine (I don't think Olympus has native iPad software for that - can the iPad even handle ORF files?)
  • The V2 release was really lukewarm and I still use the V1 on my Mac. I am a bit skeptical of the software house in the long run, but I'd love to be proven wrong!

Now, do you have suggestions on how to handle an editing routine on iPad and which software to use, ideally without subscription costs?

The edited and finished photos are usually saved in Files and imported in Apple Photos for iCloud storage.

Thanks in advance!

Hullo! Could someone help me find a knife with the following:

  • small (office duty, max 7cm long)
  • Raw Ti scales
  • pocket clip
  • slip joint or lock with 2-hand opening

The target is to match look and size of a Reylight Pineapple Mini Ti.

Thanks in advance!

For the Keychron Q10 I use at the office, Gateron Reds out, Gazzew Boba U4s in! 62g for the silent ones and 68g for the U4T on the F-row. Bonus Kailh Box Navys for the macro keys.

Inspired by u/defaultnamespace (l don‘t really know how and if user tagging works… I just linked to the profile!)

Hullo everyone, I’m looking at silent tactile switches and for sure one of the most recommended is the the Gazzew U4. I see that the white “Boba” housing plastic has been changed to a new one with better discoloration resistance. Does anyone have esperience with the new version? Particularly regarding scratchiness, I have a tester with the 62g black “Boba” plastic and I wonder if the 65g new white plastic could have some negative acoustic impact. Not a big deal, but I couldn’t find first hand experiences on the web.

Hi all, here’s my first ever mechanical board for work! Very excited to wave goodbye to the current horrendous membrane keyboard that sits in my office. I’m already planning to swap the linear Reds for a silent tactile, currently looking at the Durock Shrimps - given how much this already cost me, that will wait a bit…
