I'm not really surprised at all, a lot of people I know wouldn't stop talking about it for the grand total of maybe 2 weeks but then it all went quite. In fairness this is a sample of people who are all non-tech people, so I think a lot of it is just the fact they probably forgot the name of it or how to turn their computer on (definitely the case for some).

It's so much easier to comment on Lemmy because it isn't a toxic cesspool waiting to tear you apart in c/general@lemmy.world

I quite litterally never posted or commented anything on Reddit, just couldn't stand being absolutely shitted on if I said something wrong.

The main difference I've noted so far between lemming and Reddit is that in lemming people seem to know when to write it's or its. in c/showerthoughts@lemmy.world
joining the fediverse to bitch about reddit is the same as going on a date, and spending the whole night talking about your ex in c/showerthoughts@lemmy.world
