Oh, it was absolutely in a VM. I had a blast breaking stuff and not having to stress about it. It's the best way to learn how systems work, IMO.

I use Technitium DNS server on a mini PC to serve the same function as a Pi-Hole, and it works flawlessly.

Kobo is amazing. Their e-readers are also the best choice for loading non-DRM ebooks, such as those you might find from Humble Bundle or StoryBundle.
