I went there in 2009. I was too young to appreciate the culture. Locals were busy selling tourists goods and I wasn’t even sure what to soak in at the square.

I’m using Memmy right now. All the Apollo users should fully migrate when it’s down.

I am Australian and have always known it exclusively as the American term “ladybug”. Never heard of ladybird before.

I'm using Lemmy on desktop. The option of Apollo on desktop would have been game changing for me. The advertisements were messing with my mind!

I am theoretically switching over from Reddit to Lemmy. Finding myself spending more time on Lemmy than on Reddit. Maybe it's because I am limited to using the desktop and can't aimlessly browse Reddit on my iPhone. Of late, the only subreddits I cared for were on sports and their matchday threads and r/watches. I found myself aimlessly browsing through r/AskReddit and asking and answering pointless questions.

I subconsciously felt that this "lemmy.world" instance was for those with at least a smidgeon of programming knowledge. Otherwise the name just seems odd.
