It's piano without the 'no' put on.

This whole meme has more chromosomes than a special needs kid bus.

Guitarist: the liquid is whiskey

Hey now, don't call me out like that

[–] einlander@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm a brassist and that stuff usually ends up on your or your neighbors shoes and clothes, or the floor.

[–] BolexForSoup@kbin.social 15 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Trumpet players dumping their spit valves on the floor all around their feet never ceases to disgust me lol

[–] yaminoEXE@ttrpg.network 17 points 1 year ago

They are marking their territory.

[–] Player2@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 year ago

I think more disgusting would be if they collected it in a little cup and drank it

I play tuba, not really that gross, everyone does it in my band

Violist and yes, this is accurate

[–] TonyToniToneOfficial@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Mind explaining that one? I came to the comments specifically to see why violinists would say that.

[–] deegeese@sopuli.xyz 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I think it’s a joke about how there are never parts for the viola.

[–] Masimatutu@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Not really; if you ask a brass player, violists have more than enough to do. I meant it more like a standard viola joke that there is nothing going on in their heads :P

edit: fixed typo

Why are they known for being dumb?

[–] Masimatutu@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago

The violin is a lot more prestigeful and has more difficult parts than the viola, so violinists kind of see them as those who wanted to play the violin but weren't good enough. I guess it actually has to do more with the fact that nobody ever notices the viola since they are awkwardly in the middle, and that they therefore have less motivation to bother to count bars or play correctly in general. Either way they do tend to either forget to play or play the wrong notes every once in a while.

violist, ah, I misread the op as violinist.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Do you just not drink water?

[–] SadSadSatellite@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I was having a good time checking each one out, then the I got to the bassoonist and lost it.

[–] Masimatutu@lemm.ee 18 points 1 year ago

Here, have a hot bassoon pic you didn't ask for

[–] Masimatutu@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Another pic you didn't ask for (bonus points if you can name the piece)

[–] SadSadSatellite@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The notes make me want to say Alhambra, but the pieces of text I see look more like the man with no name theme

[–] Masimatutu@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

C'mon, it's about the most famous bassoon solo there is

(hint: it's in tenor clef)

[–] SadSadSatellite@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You'll have to forgive, my I played clarinet, and my classical training ended almost 20 years ago. Bassoonery? Maybe the halls of the mountain king?

[–] Masimatutu@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

It's the opening of The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky :)

[–] artisanrox@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)
